This is my second C6 and on my first I used the break in procedure outlined in the manual. THis time I would like to use the heat cycle method, but I have some questions.

1. will I have to change the factory needle settings to acheive the proper temp to get it over 200?

2. when I run the car for 2-3 minutes at a time how much throttle should I be giving it and should it just be blips or a sustained trigger pull.

thanks guys and gals this new engine looks real nice in my new losi 8t!!!!

You actually want to run it rich while still sustaining the engine temps. To get the temps off cut off the air flow to the head rather than leaning it to temp. You want the lubrication from the rich setting, but still want the temp up.

Don't blip the throttle, do large figure 8s, easy on the throttle easy off the throttle, you want smooth throttle motion, and dont go wide open on the throttle either. The closer you get to the end of the break in the more throttle you can give it

After each session, drop the piston to bdc, do not leave the piston in the cylinder after running. This should always be done even after break in. Let the engine cool completely back to ambient temps, then do it again. I also recommend heating the block with a heat gun or hair dryer before starting it each time during break in.

wrap the head is a plus to ge tit up to temp,my last c6 was a bitch to get up to 200 and still will only run like 220,but it ripps you will love it....I ended up seeing a c6 onroad head its a tiny little thing but would rock for break ins.....

thanks although I don't lke to take advice from a Eagles fan! HAHA Go Redskins!!!!!!!

Oh crap, your a Redskin fan? Forget everything I said, lean it to about 340, run wide open throttle for 10 minutes, leave the piston at tdc while cooling for about two minutes, then do it again. Make sure you use 40% nitro during break in, then switch to 10% after you are done. This method is perfect for any Redskin fan! =devil

I am at my 15 minute mark and I did have to lean the hsn about 5/8 turn just to get it to move. It would sit in one spot under thottle and just gurgle with a lot of smoke but wouldn't move and then stall. I hope that was ok. The temps have neen 205-215.

Ummmm during break in I would only mess with the low end needle...idk maybe I'm wrong!!!!!!!!

I kinda use the old and new way of break ins, today I got the os fired turned the low end needle so it would get to temp tan shut it down, repeat two times, than I fire the car up and run it with the low end back at factory settings and turn the high end enogh to get the car to move I did a few more tanks like that in large circles, than I tuned a bit more at this time I'm on like tank 6-7 now it is running pretty good I will run like 6-7 more tanks like this till I get it to run at a nice 220 or so....this has worked for me in th past but there are a ton of other ways as you will read....i have freinds that will idle a gallon through a new engine running rich as hell,to me this just adds stress to the rod pushing the unused fuel through the motor and take the life away...
