RC Driving Style
i was bashing my savage and managed to damage the top of my head, on one side. the very top cooling bar is bent to the second cooling bar. is this bad. will it effect n e thing? thanks

i think it gets a little tiny bit hotter but if its a whole fin i think you have to tuned it richer or get a new cooling head
 
yea i do i have a verizon vx-6000 or sumthin like that its not charge I'm at my grandpas sleepin over for the week (spring break) to work for my diablo or maybe the hyper. and back to the cell phone ill let you know when to send it i need to charge it i have the charger at my house.
 
yeah nothing to worry about.. I dont think you would even notice the diff if you broke a fin. no biggie. battle scars add cherecter anywho.
 
most of us have had broken fins.. I had the top 5 or 6 broken off at one time.. It might have got 10 degrees hotter but nothing to really worry about. Most people put zip ties on the head to absorb some of the impact. Of course it wont stop damage from a big upside down hit... but it will help..
 
even then i dont think it would make any real difference. even it you destroy it stock heads are cheap.
 
i have a spare if anyone needs it(stock head). i have a gh (golden horizons) head.

My head's been damaged for years and my wife still loves me :D

You'll be fine bro...my picco has bent fins as well...no problems.
 
I broke about 4 fins off of mine from the body wedging between them. I also really screwed up the top from flips. Didn’t notice any difference in the way it ran. I eventually bought a Nova head and found it to be much stronger. I flipped it twice on asphalt and it only nicked it. If it was the stock head it would be gouged all to hell. :2cents:
 
just check your engine crankcase for cracks.. if its just the head your ok.. but check your engine out really good..

If your carefull you can straighten out the fin they bend back fairly easy. I flipped my T-Maxx and bent about 4 of the fins and I straightend them back out :)
