I just bought a new Picco .26 for $159.00 shipped(great deal and when I receive my engine I will let you guys know where I made my purchase and it's not Ebay) and I want to upgrade my drivetrain. I'm thinking of HD bones and HD cup joints all around. I know CVD's make for smoother power but I'm noticing that the CVD's from HB and HPI don't say HD, they say steel construction. The .21 Savage already has steel construction bones on it. I am wondering if the BONES on the CVD's can hold up to the .26 or will they twist or break? They don't look as beefy as the chrome bones. Can anyone help sway my decision, bones and cups or CVD's and cups? Thanks.

please tell me where you got your picco for $159, plz, i really want one, where did you get it at?? :lick:

I just bought a Wasp .26 pretty much the same as the Picco, and i went with the CVD's. They look pretty tough. I will finish the install tonight. I will let you know how they hold up after break in. But you probably want an answer before that.

I have run the megatravel cvd's on the front wheels with my Picco and they work awesome. No sign of wear. One word of advice, install a second set screw to hold the pin in and loc-tite it. I would use red loc-tite. There has been problems with the original setscrew loosening and then the pin goes flying off into space never to be seen again. I also use White Lightning in the cvd and on the diff end to help lubricate and repel dirt.

Now I am working on the diff problem. Just ordered metal spyder diffs for front and back. 8 gears per diff and metal housings should solve the cup problems.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I might wait until I break my original equipment, then I will pull the trigger on CVD's. Thanks again.

That is perhaps the best idea. I run the megatravel CVDs all around. I didn't wait for the out drives to break, just upgraded the total package after the centers got toasted. Since, then...no problems.

Yuppp! Mega Travel C-V-D-zzzzzzzzzzz I also, by way of "always crashing my (so called HD Doggs) went with the so called mentioned above". "Give me a "[C]", Cee, "Give me a "[V]", Vee, "Give me a "[D]", Deeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz.

This took way tooo much con-sen-tray-shone for a so called Friday night

Butt Ciao Para Now!

No pissant, I should have the engine by Saturday and then I will let you know. That is a great price though,as long as shipping isn't to much. Mine was $149.00 and $10.00 to ship. That's a website you need to share with everyone. Maybe you should put that in the Savage hop-up and parts section.
Also SkyMaxx I think it's a good idea also. I will wait until I break something in my driveline and then I will proceed with upgrading the entire driveline.
