Hbx 16889a pro

I have a question for everyone. Am I the only one who thinks HBX 16889a pro are not that good or did I get a new junk one? I bought one and the first day 1 and one and a half batteries of playing and the servo stripped so had to replace that, then the front axle broke. Ok I give it to the servo as it had plastic gears which I thought I bought the upgraded one and they would not warranty it. I know my yard is not exactly flat but not bad enough to break a basher and the only ramp I have hit was in my yard which it is hard to go full throttle so I could only jump it no more that 2 feet and the ramp is 18" tall and this is in all grass. Any advice I am not happy with it.

The Amazon brands are hit n miss. We have a hyper go truck and I used to think it was decent but now, it’s just been going through parts like no body’s business. My son is rough on things though.

I just looked that up. It looks a lot like the hyper go, same layout and build quality. These cars just require more frequent maintenance and part replacement due to the chinesium grade metal.

Well nothing is truly American made but yes, you can find some better stuff out there. It all depends on budget, where you drive, what you think you want out of a car, etc. budget for a good battery charger too, like right away. Batteries (lipo) need proper care right away.

Technically unless it's a hop up like strc of how proline was, it's American made. Traxxas is American but made in Taiwan. With that said, hpi is Japanese and was great years ago. Kyosho is Japan and is as good quality as traxxas and hpi.

What's you budget, driving style, and area to drive in like? Answer those and you should get some great suggestions ideal for you.

Something affordable but small, like the arrma groms. They have a buggy, sct, and a monster truck. Keep in mind they are 1/16-1/18 scale so limited on terrain abilities.
I’m a fan of the LCRacing cars, the one I have has been pretty durable and a lot of fun to drive.
If you can afford the extra cheddah, Tekno has the sct410sl for $350 right now. It’s a kit so you have to build it. It’s a bit of an investment. That’s the cheapest Tekno you will find that is new.
There are a lot of options out there, I just don’t have experience with many of the brands. I have generally stuck with Tekno, LCRacing, a mini maxx that was overpriced, and a few crawlers. I have some other oddball things as well.

I have both the HBX 16889a pro and the MJX H14bm. I have not had any problems with them. Both run great. But I don't jump it more than 2 feet with a ramp 18" tall. IMO, that is brutal on any RC car or truck.

That's exactly what I did except through my yard I can only hit half throttle because my yard is kind of rough so my few jumps were about 2ft long. I am starting to think I got a lemon. Hmmm do you think the lemon law kicks in here .

No. IMO you did not get a lemon. All of these cars will break parts . I have a HYPER GO model 14210 that hit a 2x12 board at full speed (40mph). It broke the sleeve off the front differential and sheered the gears in the steering servo. I would say that damage would be a reasonable normal for my accident with the car or any other similar brand of car. I replaced both parts and it runs great.

HBX 16889a pro parts has an upgraded battery. 7.4 volt, 1800mah and 20C. I bought two. They are outstanding.
If you order it, mail time is almost 28 days.

Ya I got 7.4v 2200mah 25c from banggood works really good you can tell the difference. But like you said it took 3weeks to get it. So if you don't mind the wait you can get stuff cheaper. I learned a lesson I don't have that kind of patience

Did that battery (7.4v 2200mah 25c) from Banggood (Product Size:100mm*34mm*16mm) fit in his car?
My 7.4 volt, 1800mah and 20C fit tightly. I had to remove a small foam pad from the battery tray to get it to fit.
There is a YouTube review of this car. The guy installs a TATTU 850 mAH 11.1 Volt battery in it. The car really screams!.
I ordered one on Amazon. It has a T-60 connector so I ordered a T-60 to Deans connector.

That battery is 73mm long so I just put it on an angle and strap it down good. Works good. I thought about trying a 3s battery but most of the videos it didn't work so I haven't done that.

Everyone knows everything is made in China. Some of the actual “metal” parts on these Amazon cars are lower grade metal than your arrma, Traxxas, Tekno, losi, etc etc. I know this for a fact because I have a hypergo and a lot of other car brands.
A $300 mini maxx is worlds apart from the hypergo. The Tekno is on another level. The arrma stuff also looks solid. This is why we pay more, it’s just a better quality of car.
