There is a problem with one of my LiPo batteries. When I connect it to the Hyperion EOS0606i charger the display reads, "Check the Batt. over voltage." Also, the screen displays, "Balancer voltage is too high." The balancer reads 4.84 and 4.19. The LiPo is a 3800mAh 30C. When I first charged this battery, it worked fine for two runs. Each run was about 7-8 minutes max. The third time, I charged it and it ran for a minute and then cut off. What could be causing this problem and how can I fix it? How do I discharge this battery from its high voltage? Please, Please Help! :(

Dude, change your font color, thats really hard to read. My eyes are in pain now.

I have no clue how to help you, but someone will be around soon enough. I'm a complete electric newbie.

What are you running this in, what is the motor/esc, gearing, tire size, and what brand is the battery.

It should have ran a lot longer than 7-8 minutes

Did you buy the pack new?

What are you setting the charger to when you charge it? Should be set

Type of battery lipo

C=3800 2s

Are you sure the pack has the correct balancing tap? This is my guess, if you have the wrong tap it will give crazy readings and will not allow the charger to correctly charge the pack.

Did you try to charge it without connecting the balancer? If the tap is not correct you can peak charge the pack without the balancer and it should run longer that 7-8 minutes.

Well, you might have damaged the battery in the stock slash due to no lipo low voltage cutoff with the xl5...........

Battery was bought new and I did set the type of lipo to C=3800 2C and this is the connector I am using to balance and charge the LiPo. The thing is, how can I lower the high voltage? I connected to my speed control and it does not turn on and if I want to discharge with my Hyperion charger, the error reading comes out.

Something does not make sense here. In your first post your combined cell voltage is well over 8 volts, yet when you connect it to the XL-5 which has no LVC, it does not run. So you really have two issues here, the other being your ESC is not functioning correctly.

Do you have any other ESCs you can use to discharge the battery? A discharge bulb can also be used, or even hook it up directly to the motor leads of your Slash. (Keep the wheels off the ground or remove them) Once you get it to a low enough voltage you can hook it back up to the charger and balance charge it. Also, to be safe charge it at 1C, not 2C.

If the balancer you pictured is wired exactly like the pic it looks like you have the wrong tap on the battery. Your charger will give a false voltage reading with the wrong tap.

That harness is the correct harness to use with Orion packs. I use the same one with my Hyperion charger with no issues.

Edit, you are connecting the Orion harness to the balancing board that came with your charger, correct?

I might be looking at it wrong but his tap has the red wire in the middle...all of mine have it on the outside, thats what made me think it was wrong. All of my packs are wired like this

The Orion harness plugs into the 6S port of the Hyperion balance board. That is the only way the Orion harness can be used.

Hey Pete get outta that corner! :D

Here is what the set-up should look like.

I'm glad this came up because I have been looking at some Orion packs and I would have had to pm that electric guru guy again LOL

I talked to a friend and he asked me how was I balancing. I showed him the connector and Hyperion Adapter and he said that I was connecting it to the 6S slot, which has 7pins. I have a 2S Lipo Battery. How could I fix this problem? Here, take a look this is the connector and Hyperion Adapter that I have.
