i can't seem to figure out how to tune my engine ! even with the smallest carb gap, my wheels will keep jerking at idles, i noticed also that if i unscrew the carb gap screw all the way, my carb isn't closed all the way. is that normal ?

To set the proper gap turn your throttle trim all the way to brake, then adjust the idle screw so that you have a 1-2mm gap at most, this will prevent it from closing completely and killing the engine when you apply the brakes. Then set your needles to factory specs, which will be on the rich side, and start tuning from there. Also T-maxxes with reverse still installed will jerk at low speeds, it's the reverse clutches in the transmission that cause this. Best thing I ever did was remove reverse from all my maxxes.

What if my carb gap wont close completely even if i brake and unscrew it almost all the way out?

The linkages doesn't retain it at this point! it just wont close..

Maybe there is some gunk stuck in the carb
