Hi.

Just love my 7.5 can't believe the power, but of cause I'm new to this sport. Thought my T-Maxx was fast (well it sure is but the 7.5 accelleration keeps surprising me time after time)

Now if I want to get an engine upgrade. What will be a direct fit and will it be possible to justify the price.

After some searching I see the Outlaw .26 mentioned. But will it be a direct fit?? Is there other engines out there worth looking at ??

Any advice, links or thoughts are welcome..

Btw. I'm kind of in a $250 - $275 price range.

The do make a non-pull start .26 Picco Outlaw that SOULD fit. However, I'm not certain on the shaft.

Page 128 and 19 of the October 2003 issue of Xtreme RC Cars has a great breakdown of the big blocks out with POWER right now. Along with pricing, part #'s, RPM ratings, HP etc.. Even the port configs all the way around. Something worth picking up!!!

OK Thanks.

Only problem then. I'm in Denmark, and the only RC magazine they have nearby is RC Car Action.

Direct fit = perhaps I should say " if some small kit will make a different but stonger engine fit in my 7.5, then I'm interested.

Regards.

Whoops! Didnt catch the Denmark.....

Allrighty then. Best mill I say to put in is an O.S. RZV-01B. There is also a new version out by O.S. which is supposed to be pretty damn powerful AND fast but I have yet to get any real field reports on it.

Maybe I can re-type the comparrison chart in the mag sometime tonight. Have 2 parties going on today so I will have to hold off til this evening.

That would be great. :w00t:

No need to type your fingers off though.

Regards.

while we're on the subject -- since the engine that comes with the RTR has the monts already built into the block -- who else makes kyosho engine mounts?

none of the stores in my area ever have the damn mounts -- and the only place I've been able to find the mounts is online at tower :/

Not sure who else makes them, everyone I know with 7.5's run the regular engine mounts, or the blue heatsink mounts. Can you use ebay? I found 1 auction, there are usually a few because people part out complete Kanai2 kits pretty often.

Sasquatch - I second the OS V01B.... its a sweet little mill, and does have plenty of power to spare. It also tunes well (set and forget), and is awfully reliable. WS7 or WS72 are other options, I've heard the latter makes some serious power. I'm pretty sure the WS72 can be had for $270 or thereabouts provided you shop around.

Thank you everyone. Once again you saved me alot of trouble and in worst case the trouble of a wrong buy.

I usually shop at Tower. Me and my friends who are into RC make huge orders at Tower, because stuff usually actually arrive all the way to Denmark.

I think I will go for the OS V01B.

The .21 that is allready in the 7.5 (stock engine) is amazing I think. I have 10 thumbs but was able to tune it, and have not changed the needle settings since the first 10-15 tanks.

Is it really Kyosho that make the stock engine, or do they just get their name inprinted in the engine block ??

Regards.

Usually, car manufacturers rely on external engine manufacturers for their engines, and I'm pretty sure that is the case with Kyosho too, but I don't know where exactly they come from.

I'm sure you will love the V01B, its a nice engine. If Tower lists it as 'discontinued' go for the VZ-B instead, it is the engine that replaces the 01. I've heard they are pretty similar, so it shouldn't matter much. Apparently the VZ gets around a minute more than the 01 per tank, so slightly better fuel economy.

:/ where else can i order the engine mounts? the only place i've seen that carries them (onlineordering) is tower hobbies and my experience with them is...well....slow.

and i'd like to race this coming saturday :/
