Issue I had sounded exactly like TDC. Been working on it now. Used blow dryer, pulled plug. Flywheel finally turned with flathead and leverage. It would turn freely for about a full rotation, then get stiff again. EZ start finally started turning flywheel but no engine noise, just a crunchy kinda sound from the flywheel. Wheel locked up again
Did I strip something out?

Prob need to take the backplate off the engine and just have a look to make sure nothing's broke.

I know my starter batteries are weak. I'm gonna give one a nice full charge then try again in a few hours but something definitly is wrong. I'll pull the engine after work if it doesn't get going.
Frozen bearings maybe?
What little movement I had with flywheel, the piston did not appear to be moving.

A buddy said this car recently had a new piston and sleeve installed.
Might have to start looking at some of those engines for sale down in the 'buy and sell'.

Blew up my piston connecting rod. Bout to do a search for parts.
Thought about going aftermarket but Id prefer a simple fix.

Any ideas how htis happened?

Improper break in is usually the first suspect if the engine is new. If its a older engine then it's pretty normal. I usually get about 10 gallons out of my engines then it's time for a full rebuild.

Holy crap new piston and sleeve is expensive! Saw the traxxas one on A Main Hobbies for $65! I think my sleeve is ok but definitly needs new rod and piston.
Whats the best route?
Aftermarket sounds good but then gotta figure out new mount and possible carb, servo connections?

There's a couple engines that will drop right in. Os and dynamite is two right off the too of my head. Traxxas are good engines though.
