The shocks in question are the MSR8's from integy. i know integy has a bad reputation but i have not seen any bad feed back on the MSR8's and i wondered if anyone else has them and how they do. when i got mine i did not have enough oil in them but they did much better then the stock ones and since my truck is apart and waiting for new parts i can't test them out. so if you have used them please tell me how they did.
 
in most cases yes but the MSR8's are beyond beffey. they have larger reservoirs with a foam insert to stop bubbling and they have a 4mm shaft where as the others all have a 3mm. the shafts are even bigger than what comes on that huge truck CEN makes.
 
they did good except they were a little slow because i did not have enough oil in them. also what would be the best way to mount them. at an angle or more straight up.

just for bashing around with a few jumps here and there. mostly dirt, grass, and pavement.

I think he meant that as a joke.....but hey all good. I have actually seen a set of those shocks that were obviously defective since the worked great. You can get luck and yours might. The biggest problem I had seen was getting them to and keep sealed on the bottom of the shock. They were a big PITA. But you may have gotten lucky! Keep us posted when you get 'er back together and try them.
 
Lack of oil doesn't slow a shock down. It makes it bouncy with a fast rebound. If you don't jump it much, run the suspension on the low side. Less prone to rolling. I run mine on the low side and jump it often and don't have a bottoming out problem. I don't get stupid, but jump 3'-8' high, 30'-50' long on a slight down hill. I also have the springs preloaded to the max in the front; a little less out back. Stock shocks.
 
when i got them i filled them to the recommended amount and they would not extend themselves with out tons of preload. i added some more oil and they seem right now. and you say low but i got adjustable shock towers from hot racing so how low should i go.
 
well i can go up like i got a lift kit or i can go down like a f1 car. my guess is somewhere in the middle is good but there's about 45 mounting positions to think about not to mention springs, preload, oil weight, and valving. that's a lot to consider compared to the old .15 suspension i started with.
 
Sounds like a good time. Lower it to go fast; raise it to go big. Should keep ya busy. Do a search for similar setups and see what others are doing.
 
this setup does give me a lot to play with. i almost want to get some shocks that are about half the height of the tmaxx ones so that when i run on pavement i can run around like a giant 4 tec
