Well I have the savage x rims and tires on my. 25
and one day I decided to clean the rims so I washed them with
windex and a bucket of soap and water ....... off topic lol
next thing iknow half the "Chrome" came off
So know they look kind of ugly

I want to spray paint them? Is that dumb
or can I dye them but I'm scared to take the rim off the tire..
or should I just get new rims?

I would go with dyeing them, it looks so much better than paint. But it does require removing them from the rim, and it really isn't something that is too hard to do :D

just remember to do it properly 1st time round sprayed the wheels on my maxx about 5 times due to rushing and not prepping properly lol

very very true you want them nice and clean and I scuffed with a low grit sand paper to make sure it stuck and no chips yet.

I painted my stampede wheels twice. I used a model paint that you would use for the plastic model cars. It holds up ok but I noticed that most cleaners such as simple green eat away at the paint. So after you paint them you may want to avoid cleaning the wheels with anything other than water. Also I am sure you know this but make sure you take any wheel bearings out before you paint them.
