Happy Birthday. Enjoy your day.
:hbd:

Thanks guys; my days' bein spent doin a tuneup on the durango. Lemme tell ya; dodges are great trucks, but don't take on a tuneup project unless you're prepared to stretch from bumper to firewall and reach behind the engine to feel where things go (yes, that's where the distro cap is located!), much less take the engine compartment half apart to do the plugs (unless you have skinny arms).

And since mines' the 5.2L V8; that's 8 plug wires (plus coil, so 9) by touch! Wish me luck on the firing order; lets' hope the engine doesn't run in reverse, haha.

Thanks monkey; I spent the day just lazing about; actually felt good to do nothing. Put a new rotor and distro cap on the durango and managed to get the plug wires on correct on the first try. Put a new plug in the #2 chamber (ECU was registering a P0302 code; misfire in #2 cylender)... Still registering a 0302 code, so I have to do wires and the other 7 plugs tomorrow (joy!).

Other than that, got a call from my neice wishing me happy birthday, which made the day better.. Then got to go to town and pick up a new burner (which is doing the same thing as the old one; throwing errors when Nero verify's data, thinking it's nero, so updating in a minute, and possibly trying out other burning software), and managed to see a highspeed chase on I5. It turns out it ended where I was 20 minutes beforehand. Wild, huh?

Then the folks stopped by and gave me a dvd recorder (I'd been eyeing it at walmart for a while now... Now I can empty out the DVR).

All in all, a fairly good day. Didn't get the steak or the 'treat', but can't complain otherwise.

Hey man happy late birthday, Please don't break anything on the durango lol

Happy DAY HB......I hear ya on the tiune ups....I cannot work on cars anymore.....I just get pissed......so I take em in.....costs more but I have my sanity.;)

LOL - don't worry, I won't. It's parked until tuesday morning. In addition to the #2 misfire (caused by either a plugged/failing injector or a crack between the valves on the head - I'm leaning towards the injector, since it's not very severe, only sets a code when revved fast and let off fast, and not spitting raw gas), the truck has developed a few leaks on the trans case. Went out to check on a couple small drips (like 1 every 15 hours small), and there's a wet spot the size of a dinner plate on the concrete.

Top that off with bad tie rod ends, and a few oil leaks, and it looks like it's gonna be in the shop for a week or so.

The up side here; when purchased, I ponied up for the Wynn used car warranty. About the only thing I might have to pay for is fluids (oil, coolant, trans, etc).

Aside from the early-on problems, it's a nice truck; definately feels like it's taking up the whole lane, lol.

Hey Heartbreak, Sorry I missed your B day.... So.. Happy Belated Birthday! I will be turning thirty this August as well. Good luck with truck!
