Unless you do like I do... Eye it up, guess, cut, lay it, swear a few choice words, cut again.... Decide that the piece isn't the right size, so cut another one....

Repeat often until right sized piece is cut.

Just whatever you do, don't do it after you toss back a few... That makes it even more frustrating.

There is no cutting error so great that the appropriate application of molding can't cover....

You are not supposed to use a 4x4 for base molding.
