Hey everyone! I got to have a little extra fun in ham radio today. I've been wanting to try to catch the ISS and I got it today! So I figured I'd throw out this short video on it if anyone is interested.

The folks talking are not astronauts. The ISS has a repeater on it, there is an uplink and a downlink frequency. The chatter from folks is from the downlink as the ISS passes by. I'll be figuring out how to get my radio set up to uplink. I was close to having it for the afternoon pass, but I need to tweak my settings. Still super fun!

The beeps midway through the video are the ISS.

There will be more ISS chasing in the future 😄

K, so wait..the HAM radio stuff in Elio has some grounding in real life? Too cool!
I don't know anything about this stuff, that was interesting 😀
I haven't seen Elio, I'm gonna have to check that out now.
Yea! It's real fun, nerdy stuff 🤓. I'll post again here if I get another good pass and hopefully transmit to the ISS repeater.

My little is addicted to Disney+, it's one of the movies that's on regular rotation.

Aren't we all N.E.R.D's here? 😉

Its crazy to think that the tech on your desk is better than the tech than NASA used during the Apollo missions!

Cool vid! I hope you post more! I know very little about ham radio.

Congrats making contact!!! :cool: :thumbs-up::blackalien:

Retty cool. My dad was big into HAM radio back in the day. He was also into CB radio. He had a totally illegal base setup that he used to piss off the neighors. If he turned the amps, he could key the mic and turn e everyone's TV into a white noise generator.

Oh, and his CB he used in his vehicles he modified with a 3-way switch and some crystals to pickup police band. I used to turn it on and belch to the po-po's 😅
