I have a mutant maxx w/ 1/8 scale diffs.....it uses a storm center diff (and drive shafts as I now know) was wondering if the buggy diffs have a universal size or am I just stuck with the stock GS center diff.....
appreciate any input....

most buggies typically use similar sized spur gears, but the length of the diff can vary by manufacture. so basically you stuck using GS parts unless someone can confirm compatablity. why would you want to change? GS makes good stuff, and there are also limited slips available for GS cars as well.

That's what I was guessing as far as what can fit...I agree the GS stuff is nice..but I'm killing the center diff in mt truggy and I've already replaced it once, just wondering if they had a universal width to fit in the collars.
Thanks for the help

I'm stripping gears which leads me to believe something is binding...but I've taken it apart and everything seems fine, except the spider gears are rounded out allowing more slip than I want....I was told the sirio .27 was a diff killer....and I upgraded my front and rear diffs to 7.5 gears and they hold fine.....and yes I am using 10,000 wt silicone in the center.....any thoughts on what's going on here....I just got the sirio and tried it for a week and went through 2 centers.....I put my RG back in yesterday so I could play today and it seemed fine, No slipping...I love the sick speed that sirio has but if I only get a few tanks out of my diff then it will be going somewhere soon....

honestly i think you need to shim the diff better and for that motor you should be running about 30k in the center diff not 10K. 10K is more for the front diff in a truggy. also try some 3K in the rear. the 30k in the center will keep the front tires from unloading so much, this will reduce wear on your center diffs internal gears.

Corrado thanks for the tip
I tried that today.
the front hooks up like it's got glue on the tires....
the Ballistic missile is bAack..
I got the weights from the GSracing site not thinking they were for stock setups..
another lesson learned.
thanks again...
