I think it looks fine. The only difference is the rear window, from most body styles. At least it's something distinctive. And a viper costs $80,000, not $450.

And you can rest assured that there will probably be more then a few aftermarket replacements anyways. heck, it's just a peice of plastic.

Since the buggy does not seem to be (at the current state of hopups) an RTR, and thus will likely be purchased by folks whom are already enthusiasts, even if they don't like the body they know it's a great machine and won't care.

Hell, more then a few people run their nitros with no lids ever, some with busted up bodies, some with no wing..

Yea, the body would not keep me from buying a buggy I thought was worth it, but IMO that is an ugly body.

Is it the colors? Looks like they have a bunch of different choices for that.

Style? Bah, it looks the same as any other buggy to me, pretty much.

It's the same exact photo with different colors and a very slight change to the rear window.

If you think it looks better now, then it didn't look bad before..

I don't know if all Ofna buggies are the same, but my friend got an Ultra MBX Pro one and the body is ... very bad.

The thing doesn't even fit on right. It's really thin plastic, it's painted on the outside, and it has a "protective" layer over it that liked to peel back and bubble.

And it's completely opaque, with fake window stickers which only look good on the box or on Ofna's web site.

Now, the buggy itself seems to be just fine in terms of quality. I'd still buy an ofna dispite the lousey lids..

Well yeah it’s a fair point not the best looking buggy I’ve seen, but surely it’s what’s under the body shell that counts? And this looks to be one awesome buggy.

It only looks good in the pictures.

The ones I've seen look very cheezy. Like I pointed out before, the windows are fake, the plastic is thing, the design is painted on top, covered in a "protective layer" that likes to peel off and bubble almost immediately.

There's a sticker on top that says "This cover is protected by a protective layer" and when you pull it off, it bubbles and creases the layer.

And it doesn't fit on the buggy correctly without cutting and modification.

I don't like a lot on the new car body styles when the first come out but the grow on me and I really like some. At first I am with you it is different and a little retro. I think we will get used to it, and I bet Pro-Line already has a Crowd Pleasure in the works for it as we speak.

Apparently you are not reading my posts or you just don't beleive me. I will say it just one more time. Word has been given to me by a GS employee that the first official release is the World's Warm up race in holland in March. After that expect to see it real soon in hobby shops and online. Other than that you have to race for team GS or have an in to get your grubby hands on the Avenger.

Damn I guess i am wrong. Just talked with dude and the opener just happened last weekend it seems. Wow where have I been.

Is it just me, or is the rear wing on the new Avenger mounted a lot further forward, maybe .75", in comparison to other buggies? I wonder how that affects the jumping. Everything else looks good...every buggy manufacturer nowadays is trying to set themselves apart from the pack. Time will tell to see what actually works!

Of course, since the new storm is just that, very new, I hardly expect any of the hard core racers to put down their Mugens and Kyoshos and try to race with a car they aren't 100% familiar with yet.

Are we a little defensive? GS has some damn good pro racers that raced the buggy there. You are right it is new, give it some time. You still sound like you are defending it.
