Been a very long time since I have posted here but just wanted to stop by and say hi! I am very seriously considering getting back into the hobby and thought I would start doing some background work to see what the latest and greatest is.

For those that dont remember I had a savage before but for the life of me could never get it to run right (thanks to all those who tried to help!). Well, I have more time to spend on one now and look forward to having some fun with all of you!

Cheers!

Welcome back. Do you still have your savage? If so post up your questions. I am sure there are many that can help you as well as the Staff.

Welcom back again!!

Unfortunately, no I don't. I sold it last year out of frustration and simply not having enough time to play with it due to work. I am going to end up buying a new one here very soon. The Savage X looks really damn cool but we'll see.

Hi geardigger, and welcome back! Keep us up to date on your new Savage, the X does look cool.

Quick tip, I learned how to tune the hard way which is without a temp gun, after buying one I could kick myself in the back side for not doing it years ago. It makes tuning quicker easier by taking some of the guess work out of the equation. Now hears a little something to wet your appetite

Nice! Hrmmm, how much are temp guns and where can one buy those?

Most hobby shops sould have them, they are around 20-25 bucks. I suggest the Duratrax Flashpoint one.

Nice truck SMaxxin, I just orderd and X :D

So if I go to my LHS and pick one up what are the other items I will need? Things like batteries, chargers, fuel, glow plugs etc?

I know I had to buy a few extra things when I got my Savage .25 but I am trying to figure out how much this is going to run me.

Thanks for any and all help guys!

if you have a rotostart you need a 7.2v 6 cell battery, a charger for the battery,
fuel, glow plugs (i like having at least 3 on hand), & a couple extra spur gears

& when you can...a failsafe, & a 6 volt receiver pack & charger (to replace the AA bats in the truck) ...these will save you money in the long run
