So I complained to horizon hobbies about my shocks leaking from the o rings, they said to use green slime. So I got some but how exactly should I use it. I assume I must again take the shocks apart and drain the oil. Do I need to clean the o rings with anything, the shock shaft? I dont want to do this wrong, or have to do it again. Any suggestions.

i believe you just coat the o-rings with it. its thick and gooey and should help stop your leaks.

O would start with fresh O-rings and oil to be safe, When I used it on my Losi crawler shocks I put some on each o-ring before installing them into the cartridge, I also put a little more on the opening that I was sliding the shock shaft through and a little on the end of the shock shaft that was being pushed through the cartridge. I am not sure what shocks you have but my past experiance is that most shocks seem to leak a little, Hope this helps.

I have the mrc, with losi threaded shocks. They have always leaked at the o rings so I found some brand new replacement o rings installed in the endcap, so I carefully had everything clean when installing them, 2 hrs later they were wet around the o rings. Basically they are brand new so I will just reuse them. I'm just so pissed they leaked I contacted horizon hobbies and they recommended the green slime.

They leak because their Losi's. Thats just something the majority of losi crawler shocks do, mini or 4".

Green Slime should be used on all o-rings. I use the stuff in shock and diffs no matter what scale I am working with.

I have never had a Losi shock leak after I rebuilt one using Green Slime.

I've never had shocks leak before 10 years ago when I was into rc cars, so I was shocked to see new ones leak. Maybe the quality of these parts have gone downhill over the years and everyone just lives with it.

Losi shocks are the only ones I have ever found that really leak. All of the others don't leak after using Green Slime.
