Instead of having a post with just links to aftermarket parts, what about creating an area on this site (or not) where we can go in and enter aftermarket parts by O.E.M part number, discription, price, and website!? Maybe also include a rating of quality like 1 to 5 of the part and the buying experience. Little by little it would automatically build a data base, then after a while, we would be able to go in, click a list of parts we want, and it would give us a list of where to buy these parts the cheapest. I spend HOURS looking for the best bang for the buck and would love to have a tool like that. I would do it but I don't know anything about creating a web page. I'm sure we can all contribute to the list cuz we ALL want to spend as little as possible for that precious aluminum. Lol. What do you think?

I have run across something like this. Playing the online game everquest, their are a lot of item with different attributes. We had to have a data base so we could se what items we could get from where. We also needed to find out how good the item was.
You could have a simple, searchable data base. Users could enter the information via a form With drop down menus for catagories, and one or two spots for formatted user text. (descriptions/quality/experience)
The only problem I see with this. A whole LOT of script. Also, to have a searchable database like that takes tons of server side resources. Depending on how much it was used/searched it may need a server of it's own to be able to keep up.
You also have to have somone almost constantyl availabe for when somone makes a mistake, or posts a bunch of BS in a few catagories.
It's a lot of work, but I really think It could pay off in the end. You could get a lot of serious sponsors if it was used enough. I can imagine as a store owner having my name on the front page of a search engine. Especially a serach engine designed for people who want to spend money

Steve it's a great idea and well, it would just take a lot of people's time and money to do. I would almost imagine that this is something that the site would not entertain the idea of hosting. I would think of doing it if I wasn't a busy guy. But even at that that leaves one person to do a shitload of resarch. Hmm, I just don't know how feesible it is.
