If anyone is thinking about upgrading their cooling head for the S-25, you should check this one out. I scooped this GPM Billet Aluminum Cooling Head last week & am finally getting around to posting the pics up.
Anyway, I filled my tank up with nitro and had the stock head on. I ran the truck on a designated course that I set up in the yard. Once the fuel hit the halfway mark, I pulled her in and checked the temps (245 degrees). I ran it two more laps and checked the temps again (243 degrees).
So I let the engine cool down & then cleaned it off so I wouldn't have anything falling into the engine. I switched out cooling heads and ran the exact same track and in the exact same manner that I did earlier. When I hit the halfway mark on the tank again, I pulled her in for a temp check (203 degrees). I ran two more laps and check the temps again (202 degrees). So I dropped my temps by about 40 degrees.
I was surprised at how much the temps dropped b/c the GPM head is about the exact same size (height & diameter) as the stock head. The only difference is the GPM head has 13 fins while the stock has 11 fins. Plus the inner diameter is wider.
So if you are looking for a nice Cooling Head, check it out. I found it for only $20. The only thing that you need to do is use the stock S-25 Underhead on the GPM Head.
Here's a link if anyone is interested:
