I just got the jato back that I sold in january or december.. blown motor dirty as hell and nitro residue all over the thing... When I get her clean I will take a few pics to put up.... I will be ordering piston sleeve and conrod for a 3.3 I have to rebuild.. the 3.3 that was in the jato is just comletly done.. now when I get the jato back up and running the way she is supposed to I can see if my classic with the 3.3 will keep up with it... Right now he had paddle tires on the back but I am looking around for some better tires.. I am not sue if I want the anaconda tires or not I know they sucked in the winter time.. got reall hard in the cold hit secound gear and just stated spinning down the road... I just barely stopped it from hitting a curb.... I almost want to do the whole thing in aluminum because I think they look sick like that but I also want to keep it light to get the speed up as high as I can get it.. what do you all think of the carbon fiber kits for the jato???

You should post before and after pics . Never seen a jato what are they . Thats a Damn shame he ruined it . I can remember you saying ages ago in one of your posts about it .

I will take a few pics this morning for you it has had a few piece's I put back on last night.. but you will get the jist of it .

here are the before pics well acouple of them.. a front veiw and a veiw with no top to see thr crud build up.. the nitro tank was full and hasnt been ran in bout 3-4 months.. or longer.. He had a really retarted red toop on it when he dropped it off, that he had cut to hell and it is so flimsy its kinda funny... I think the top they put on the jato fits it perfect!!!! I think I am going to be pulling a motor of one of the maxx's so I can play with this thing a couple times and hopefully find out there is no hidden problems... after the old lady leaves for work I am heading down in the cave and starting the surgery.... it feals like sugery considering I am going to have to wear some gloves because of all the nitro all over it.... I dont realize how you make that much of a mess... expetially hith a filler bottle...

the way the tank is in there and the space that the wires run behind the tank and the fact that they didnt put up a bearier so I have to take all the electrics out and clean all that aswell... nothing was safe from a mess on this thing appearently... let me know what you think Ash this is the jato... oh and he lost the wheely bar, fuel filler bottle, origional controler, and the origional tires for the back but i think he ruined those in thes than 2 weeks.

they are alot of fun.. Kinda the same idea as the rusty only nitro.( yes i know there is a nitro rusty too.) I put them next to each other (the rusty and the jato) and the tops are pretty close to the same, same size.... I think thats why i liked the rusty so much... I can't wait I still have the gearing for it that puts it up to 85 (the guy i bought it from had it clocked with the origional gears and got 62 and when he swapped out the gears he got clocked at 85... I can't wait!!!

That and the jato will need a new shinny top!!!

85! Thats just obscene. Now I definitely want one...

But I just got this Tmaxx, so I guess that can wait a little while.

there is some nice ones on ebay you could get one for under 200 all done up.. even though I shouldnt of said that, cause now I might end up competing with you for one of the ones I am tying to get off there l.o.l...

You shouldn't have to worry for now, I still need to play with my maxx for a while before I launch another project. I figure it will be at least a month or two before I decide to splurge on a whole new car.

But if you haven't bought one by then... let the bidding wars begin! (just kidding)

I would add bearings to the list for that worn out engine, if the old ones let go they will take out all the new parts with them. I got 61 mph with one of my pipes and an OS .18 TZ, I would love to see a 3.3 pull 85 mph, I was told you could only achieve those speeds with a high end .21 like the Picco P9R .21 I have one but I'm going to stretch out the .18 before going big block as the tranny gears seem to really suffer once you make the jump. I'm hoping to hit 70 mph with the .18 but time will tell on that venture. Here is the fastest Jato I have found, there is a lot of work that has to be done in order to achieve these kinds of speeds, it won't do that in stock form lol. Good luck with the build and keep us posted, I get a kick out of driving mine, they are like miniature missiles with wheels lol.

Matt carbon fiber is great as long as it is of good quality its about the closest thing you can get to flexible metal.Thats why they use it a lot in formula 1 racing and tunnels for racing snowmobiles.Light weight and strong.:D

Just be aware that they offer a carbon kit that looks to be a carbon sticker over the original parts, I don't think the kit is meant for anything else other then the bling effect.

Your absolutly right i've seen black fiberglass trying to be passed off for carbon fiber lot of ripoffs out there.:whhooo:

yeah I had noticed that on a few of the kits.. and yeah I always change bearings when I rebuild an engine.. I had picked up a bunch of bearings from fast eddy's so I have a few thats why I didnt mention it.. although I should recheck to make sure that I didnt use them all up already... and I am using my spare 3.3 that snapped a rod and suprisingly enough piston sleeve and everything looks good!!! but I have cleaned it and inspected it really close. when I pull his old motor apart I will post picks!!! he wanted me to rebuild it for him and there was no way that thing was going to ever run again.. Thanks for all the positive feedback...
Yeah and on the speed I wouldnt of believed him but he had video to show the gun after he went past... Any ideas welcome,, u can never have enough ideas....

Well I got through half of the cleaning and ran out of nitro cleaner.. this stuff is like sludge and thick as hell!!!! I go mudding with my 3.3 tmaxx and I dont have this big of a mess ever.. Crazyness.. well in the a.m. I am going to try and get some more cleaning agent.. I was told to go to home depot and it will save me a couple bucks!!!

I can't believe I sold it to him at all ... I feal dumb!!! poor car but in less than 2 months she will be blinging!!! I think I am going aluminum...

It's all back together well all except the engine ( I was gonna say motor but I know rolex will read this sometime..... l.o.l.:p:)
And I can't wait to get the rebuild parts and put it all back together.... I am also looking at motors... I should of grabbed that one hpi killer was selling... I knew I should of!!! I will have pics up in the next few days of the progress!!! I bet it lost 1-2lbs getting cleaned!!!! I should of saved all the sludge in one spot an weighd it to see how much was really on it.... I was thinking of getting maybe the next step in engines for alittle more insaneness... not like it needs it but I am not all there all the time....

Or I could just get the davis deisel con rod for all the 3.3's so I dont have to worry about that thing breaking right off!!!
