Hey, I went with the savage 25. It is undergoing the 4 spider mod, cam servo saver, and thread lock the motor mounts right now. I can put pics up later. THIS THING IS SWEET!

sweet did you buy it new, used, are you building it, i think I'm going to buy one. but can't afford it now going to have to start buying gas and insurance.

you are going to love it!!!!
I just got mine over the weekend and had a blast with it...I didn't really know how I'd find it as I love my buggy and thought that was the best offroad car around (only thinking about speed and cournering)...but the Savage opened up a whole new bashing world to me!!!

I a bought it used. I am doing all of the updates like the threadlock on the mootor mount, 4 bevel gears mod, and cam servo saver.

good luck with the truck, i had one, great truck...show some pics!!!

the stock steering "bearings" are plastic, and will develope slop over time. These made the steering silky smooth.

not to be an ass but they are bushings, just an FYI

That's why I put "bearings" in quotes. I know they are bushings, and they suck.

well, i got done with the first differential, but that took a long time becuase I had no clue that u had to pretty much take the whole front end off. It then took a very long time to try to remember what screws went where, and finding out I had extra screws was like WTF?! But i decided not to do the cam servo saver mod until i get a new servo because I heard it doesn't really make much of a difference if you dont do the mods at the same time.

isnt it great when you take something apart and put it back together only to find extra screws? then you go down the street with it and bring it back and learn it now only has 2wd... its happened many a times with my clod.

you did the mod, how much did it actually cost to get the proper bearings??

I think it was $10 for 4 bearings from duratrax. the actual hpi set through tower was close to $14 or so, so went with "loose packaged" bearings. I did the same mod on my nitro mt, and it took a lot of play out of the steering, so figured it would be a benefit to the Savvy.
