Is anyone running this engine, I had my heart set on the 24/7 pro but the guy at my LHS talked me into this one. It actually ran a little less and I was like 26 Holy crap. Can't wait to break this bad ass in. Damn my LHS has some good prices just looked at tower and they want $194.99 for this motor and I picked it up for $164.00 with no tax. Also got the savage dual disk brake conversion. I'm going to put it all in tonight and break it in in the morning. I'll let ya know.

Woo-Hoo!!! Yeah baby!! You're gonna love it, Newnitro! It's all nuts! And then some nuts on top of that. Some people have found it hard to tune. I love mine. I've let it sit for almost two months, pick it up, starts on third pull of the starter.

hey WDH, can you tell me where you got yours from? I be getting a .26 soon because I verified indeed that I can run a .26 for race.

HOLY ZIP TIE BATMAN! I don't think you have to worry about the top being scratched at time soon. :)

Nice price on the Picco newnitrofan. Let us know how it goes for you when you start breaking it in. What dual brake kit did you go with? I am looking at purchasing one soon for my Savage.

I've heard the HB metal kit works great.

I went with the HPI dual brake disc conversion. It was right for the price. $18.00 for the kit. The stock brake disc wasn't getting it for the 21BB I could only imagine what would happen if I tried it with the 26. I should begin break in sometime today or tomorrow. Later

newnitrofan...did the guy at the LHS talk you out of the xtm 24.7 pro due to the fact he has experienced the picco and 24.7 pro and thought the picco ran better/stronger? I'm asking becuase if i was to get another big block i was going to go 24.7 pro due to the fact my standard 24.7's are super easy to tune and hold a tune...and have very nice rip. it seems from hearing about it the piccos may have little more up top...but the 24.7 pro is right there with it on low/mid range.

BTW I've been told be people that own the standard 24.7 and pro version..and they say the pro definatly has more balls than the standard...if so that would be nice. anyways though congrats on your purchase thats gona be one pissed of mill!

Well I honestly told him I wanted just the 24/7. He said honestly you should get the picco I said why?? He said a bunch more power. Plus the fact that in their shop the 24/7 was running $140.00 and the Picco was $164.99 and they had the pro for $199.99 so for me the math was honestly simple. I would still like to get a hold of the pro and see how it does though honestly. I'm super stoked about the purchase as the stock 21 was just giving me nothing but headaches. I've eaten like three one way bearings in it since november. Think I'ma trade it in for a new Nitro star 25 in the engine exchange program. They had the sirio 27 in there too but I was full on not about to pay $349.99 for one motor.

EDIT: Wdavidhicks what pipe/header are you running in that bad boy?? I am curious to see what will give this thing some good power. I am just running stock for now but I know that has got to change like soon.

ic...yeah with the prices your lhs had that was an easier choice. I've seen my lhs have the pro and picco at 189$ for either. makes it a harder choice hehe. anyways that picco is definatly the strongest mill out (not including the $$$$ sirio 27) with a pull start you can right now...at least I'm pretty sure. i ve jsut heard alot of tuning stories...and I'm very impatiant about tuning after running my RG and xtm, which ran great.

That pipe/header looks like the Dynamite chrome one piece. Of course the THS looks like that also.

I'm putting on the brake disc conversion right now. Hopefully I will be getting a few tanks through her today. I ran into a little trouble with the conversion though. See the kit comes with an extended outdrive but I have already purchased the GPM extended brake hub and want to use it. You have to punch out the axle outdrive and mine seems to be real stuck in there right now. I think I should be able to get it out with a nice hammer and screwdriver though. In reference to pipes I want one that will let this thing breathe really well. I know the benefits will be awesome in the end. Al I'll let you know if I run into any tuning issues with this beast. FYI hobbypeople has the PRO on sale right now for $179.99 that's a good price.

I bought it from Extreme RC Motorsports in August of last year for $179.95.

It's the THS with some modification to orient it correctly.

Sup guys,

Well just got my first tank through the picco today. I have to say I am way excited to get this thing broken in. I went ahead and used two washers on the plug it made it so much easier to start wow. I can't wait to see what this bad boy can really do. I mean I can already tell the difference between the 21BB and this thing just while it is idoling(sp??). I think this motor is going to be a lot of fun. I am including a pic of the HPI dual brake disc conversion. I don't know what I really think about it. I mean yeah it stops everything but it seems like HPI skimped a little bit on the brake pads for my taste. They are a little thin. Only time will tell though. Newayz late.

NewNitro - Big COngrats on your purchase bro, you should be very happy with it. That engine is a torquey son-of-a-bitch if I've ever seen one.....the low and mid range on that engine just kicks arse. I've only driven buggy engines or mod'd engines with more low end. I'm sure your Savage will be rocking the hizzle with that engine nizzle..lol.

Peace

Yeah RCboyz usually has good prices. I have to say that I am very surprised how good of a buy this was from my LHS. Very good buy indeed. Cowboynv for right now I am only running the stock pipe and it seems to do ok. I have to say that is one of the next things I will in fact upgrade.

hey 30% maybe off topic a little but i was wondering what buggy (i presume there .21 size) engines youve drove that have more low end than the .26...as I'm looking for the most low end i can get in a .21 mill for my storm pro in near future..and after loong research I've come very close to choosing the Novarossi P5, as it seems to be the motor everyone claims to rock down low.

I'm not 30% but i can say that the O.S. .21RG has got some of the best low end out of any engine I've ever drove. It can flip a tmaxx on its back with about 1/2 throttle. It has enough pull to push boulders with my savage....so Id have to help you out on this one.

i own an OS Rg myself, and have ran that mill on a t-maxx and in an x-terminator 1/8 buggy. i was very surprised with the low-mid range power it had...when i bought it reading "sport motor" i was pleased with how much power it had. but yet the xtm 24.7 that i have in the t-maxx now and in one of my 1/8 buggys kills it on low end. basicaly i want a mill in .21 size that has that kind of low-mid range power...as that seems to realy suit my driving style...
