Well I received my picco max today, it was slightly used with about a gallon ran through it.
Question one, I noticed on the picco website that the low speed needle should be about 7.5 turns out from fully closed as a base setting. They mean full revolutions, correct? It just seemed like it was a long way out compared to the 3.3 engine.
Question two, this thing is a lot louder than the 3.3, normal? I disassembled the engine and made sure everything looked good. It has great compression. I plan to seal it tommorrow.
Question three, the engine temps got to around 220 when I measured down to the glowplug, but were 270 at the block... which reading should I go by?
Final question, the truck didn't want to shift into second. I believe it may be the spur gear.. that could cause the problem, right? The engine revved high in first and ran clean but never wanted to shift up. Unfortunatly it got dark so I couldn't tighten the spur to see if it was the problem. Once I came in I noticed the nut wasn't very tight and could be turned pretty easily with the 8mm wrench. I tightened it down and then backed it off about 1/4 turn.
