Hey guys!!! Today was the big day! I got my NTC3. It has an RB X12, 2 JR Z590 servos (surprizingly good), 4 slicks on dishes (don't worry, I'm getting foams ASAP) and it came with a NIP Golden Horizons Blue aluminum handle just for the heck of it. I put my brothers Airtronics Blazer reciever (what a non-adjustable radio :( ) in it cuz I'm waiting for my Novak XXL to come. I got all this for $250 shipped. It is the old version with the V2 rear which is still awesome for me. It has been RAAIIIINNNNIIIINNNGGG for the past week and it will continue to next week, hopefully leaving a dry day on saturday or something. Ill have pics soon. :)

This Just In!!!! someone bid on my tc3 so now i can get lots of sweet stuff for my ntc3! lol yay :D

Patience, young grasshopper. I'll have em tomorrow :D Maybe you guys can help me figure out if the parts are carbon or plastic because I can't really tell. I tried holding up my tc3 and my brothers b4 to it, but I still couldn't tell. Most likely from bad lighting in my workshop. Gotta take it outside.

Plastic is all black. The carbon parts will have a greyish tint to it and a textured feel to it. Take some close up pics of the parts so we can identify the parts correctly.

Here are a few pics of my NTC3 that I had before Joey bought it. I can honestly say that nothing on it was original except for a few screws :) If your parts (suspension parts, radio tray and handle) look like this, then it's carbon. I got all these parts when I converted it to the Ver2 rear. The dif housings were bought seperately since they did not come with the carbon upgrade.

OMG... this is the fastest car i have EVER seen in my life!!! :OMG: HOLY poop. I was completely blown away!!! I decided to finish off my 20% gallon and went on to my 30%. It is FFFLLLLYYYIIIINNNGGG down my street at about 200*. it is amazing. ill get pics tonight :) That rb is FFAASSTTT.

Welcome to high end engines. :)

When you're ready...step on up to a Mugen X12 and pray that you don't hit a wall, because that engine is a BEAST.

I like the RB X12's. Very reliable, pretty quick, and they're fairly cheap, for a high end engine.

you mean they get faster?!?! lol jk. I definitally have to get used to this one before I upgrade. But this one is pretty damn fast! ahh poop, i forgot to get pics. It started raining before i remembered....

you need to learn how to harness that power first. Throttle control and the differenting dynamics between of and onroad as well as

Yeah... i know what carbon parts look like, but this car is confusing. If you got on AE's website, the old rtr has the same tank, center drive shaft, and pipe as mine. (which is making me mad). The guy said my car was the old FT 3 times. Did the old FT car have this pipe and silver drive shaft? or did i just get screwed? this is why i can't really decide, because I am confused. But I'm starting to think it is the old rtr with better electronics, V2 rear and engine :(

You also have to rememer, these parts can and usually are replaced with time. The tank is in a vaunerable position and will break on a hard enough contact on the left side. The factory team center shafts are blue. The pipes (FT) came with a silver single chamber for the side exhaust version and the rear exhaust version had the silver "squirrel tail" single chamber as well. It's the new Ver 2's that have the blue annodized dual chamber.

The tanks are pretty much the same design. It's just where you place the pressure tube that makes the difference. IF you place it on the nipple that's on the cap, that is where it should be anyway. When I first got that kit (ver 1) I followed the instructions to the tee and place the pressure fitting on the place specified. That is the fitting on the tank just above the fuel delivery nipple. It was the wrong place to install it. I quickly learned that it needed to go on the cap.

The drive shaft on the older version had one diameter from end to end. This was usually upgraded with a beefier version that went from a smaller diameter to a larger diameter for the majority of the drive shaft. This is what comes in the newer versions (I think). At least, it's available and many people upgrade to this.

Take some pictures of the items in question. Otherwise I'm in the dark.

Also, the older RTR's didn't have threaded shocks, and 2 speed. The FT kits didn't have engines either.

My suggestion to you is, just enjoy the car. You can't do anything about it since you already purchased it. Whether it is a V1 or V2 FT; Cabon or plastic. If you want to know what you really have badly enough, ship it to me and take care of return postage. I can tell you exactly what you have since I owned a V1 that was converted to a V2. Otherwise, just enjoy the car :)

Thanks for clearing that up man. It gets dark WAY too fast right now and i missed the time again (was waiting for it to clear up from the rain). I'm gonna go ahead and take some pics in my work shop right now. No need to ship. I can deal with it whether the parts are plastic or carbon.

Aight, here are the pics. Sorry for the somewhat blurry pics and the not so clean car. Anyways, here ya go.

OUCH a pebble got stuck in the clutch bell (the cb is fine) :( I think i need a new spur. It still spins somewhat nicely, but it probably would be bad to run it like that.

yeah that is an old rtr version. mine looks a lot like graphite but i dont think it is. the plastic associated uses looks like graphite.

That is the ver 2 of the NTC3 unless you installed the rear adjustable amber arms. Did you?
