ok so I'm new to trucks (not new to racing sedans), and for my first truck i was looking for a super durable, very high performing truck. i have looked at and was thinking about getting the savage ss with the truckzille big twin.26 hop up, got any recomendations on what to get to make it more durable, please tell me.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHKC6&P=Z --twin .26

i would say dont go with the truckzilla big twin, most can get one engine right right coulf you imagine trying to tune 2 engines, the savage is durable right out of the box, there are a few mods to do to it ,like the monsterpirate steering ,and a 4 spider gear diff mod i would also upgrade the engine to something like a .26 picco and a good tuned pipe other then that savage is a great truck!!!

i got no prob tuning engines, cause I've worked with touring cars for like 4 or 5 years so I'm just wondering if the twins are durable enough and if they would produce more power than a 46, so ya. i also wanna no what kind of rollbars are the best and tougher servos, fuel tanks that dont crack, i want mine to be a tank

i got as much $$$ as i need to do anythin with it

I think the savage SS is a sweet kit. With the electronics, reverse, batteries, rotostart, other misc items, I spent over $800- I'd keep the other 2 bills in your pocket and upgrade as you break. Wrenching is a cool part of this hobby anyway. (I guess if you were looking for more power you could upgrade the motor, that's the only thing I really considered doing). :2cents:

lol, my friend is gettin a savage 25, and i just wanna run circles around his
so thats y i want a fast tank that is impossible to break, and anyway, I'm not worried bout the $$$ cause well, just cause I've got plenty of it

also, is there anything different bout breaking in a truck as supposed to breaking in a touring car?

The .46 engine will have more torque than the twin .26, but the .26 alone should have higher peak rpms than the .46. That translates to more top speed for the .26 over the .46, but better terrain climbing from the .46.

Either way, the twin .26 set up will be almost overkill.

a good rollcage for the savage is the rc-solutions rollcage. its pretty light and should hold up to a lot of abuse.

RB28? with the .46, whats peak rpm, I've heard its low, so it would just have low end torque and a low top speed.

I was also thinkin bout replacing the 2 .26 engines that come with the kit with 2 picco .26, that would give power and speed

just to let you know the kit does not come with engines, and you will be spending more like 2000.00 after evrything maybe more, and to run 2 engine you be fixing yours while he's running his,if you wanna get crazy go with the .70 or .90 conversion you can get it at new era's site, but personaly i would just go with the rb.28 or the novarossi .28 they are well made engines you say in the begining of the thread you said you got a grand to spend but now its no issue you better have lots if your out to compete like the way you want a .28 will set you back about 350+ good luck!!

The claimed max rpm of the .46 engine is 23,000 with claimed power of 4.8hp.

I think you would be better off getting the Sport Truckzilla conversion kit (http://www.meganitro.com/) and choose a reliable engine to go with it (definitely not the .46 engine)

Every engine rb makes is top notch, so I don't see why the .28 would be any different. The power must be explosive. If I had the $$$ I would definatly put that in a MT you would definatly run circles around anybody you want. You might want to look at the MGT or XTM's moster truck or the LST. These companies are pushing the bar of technology.
