hey i need some new shocks because of the extra downforce on the shocks from the new 5.9 motor what would you suggest?

May be you could upgrade to the new over sized shocks for hpi.

the stock savage shocks are good ones. just go with stiffer springs, thicker oil, or a few spacers.

lst2 conversion is the only way to go. i bent, snapped, warped and utterly destroyed a set of the aluminum hot bodies ones in one bash session.

I haven't messed with the nitro's in awhile but i know you used to need either S25 lower arms or aluminum lowers with spacers.

Either way, find out how to get the LST2 shocks onto your truck and you will be satisfied.

I agree 100%

The stockers are great shocks, just get stiffer springs. I still have the stockers on my Savage SS for many years now.

The aluminum Hot Bodies are junk, I have heard of many people bending and destroying them easily.

stiffer springs and thicker oil just make it roll over and wheelie more. two things i hate.

with the larger shocks it dampens the entire truck quite well and makes it handle like a different machine.

if you won a lotto, and the prize was either everything you need to get LST 2 shocks onto your savage, or a set of stiffer springs and thick shock oil, what would you pick?

Do you want the best for the truck or a cheap fix?

+1 on the stock shocks, they are really strong, like everybody said just get stiffer springs and thicker oil!! JMO

the best part is once you get tired of the stock shocks, you can paint them red and white to decorate for Christmas!

if you just added weight because of a heavyer engine, the a little stiffer spring or a spacer should do it. yea the lst shocks are bad ass, but its pretty $$ to upgrade to them. I agree the lst setup is to notch but not everyone has 150$ to toss at there savage.
