RC Driving Style
A few days ago I was driving and you know how it goes, the light shines down from the heavens on a 2ft high skateboard ramp about 5 feet from a road and the two devils pop up on each shoulder, one saying don't do it you will break it and the other chanting DO IT, DO IT and I gave in and went for it. So I am coming down this path at about 30mph and hit the ramp and get perfect trajectory (sp?) and its flying perfectly climbing into the air, 3, 4, 5 feet in the air, it passes over curb on one side of the road and is at about its highest point at about 6 ft then it starts to decend and everything slows way down. 10 ft from the curb and 5 ft in the air, 5ft from the curb and 3ft in the air then half a foot high and 1 foot from the curb and then, I shut my eyes. When I open them the car is making this wierd ch cht ch cht sound and I rush over to shut it off and ascess the damage. At first all I saw was the broken motor mount but then upon further inspection I find both bulks busted and a chip in the side of the diff and a broken skid. When I get the parts to fix it I start trying to take all the screws out, one problem, any screw parallel to the curb is bent and wont come out. Its at this point when I step back pause and go.... $hit...

So my question is has anyone ever bent this many screws, there has to be at least 10 bent screws? And where can I get replacements?

I did a thourough check but do you think there is any internal damage I should check for?

I can get some of the busted stuff but I already replaced most stuff besides for the bent screws. The bulk was split in two.

and two of the four connectors on the engine mount were busted.

I am a cheapo screw set off ebay for $13 bucks if you want something like that let me know and I will get you the guys url.. again they are just a cheap set but thats all I really needed.

Oki, are they hex head, because that it is what I am looking for, they don't cam out like phillips heads do.

To be honest I am not even sure but I will check when I get home, I would like to say they are indeed phillips but I am not 100% so I will let you know.

Screwed

I have found that is it is was cheaper to go to your local hardware store and get your screws. In a screw "kit" you only get a select few good screw sizes. T maxx have mostly (if not all )3mm screws, with the "kits" you get 3's and 4's usualy. So you can spend 13 bucks plus shipping and get maybe 15-20 screws or get exactly what you want and get 40-50 for the same price. They should have hex, phillips, and flat heads in 3mm.

sbbs4us wdavidhicks has a website http://www.wdavidhicks.com/rcnitro/rcnitro.htm scroll down to hardware and there are some screw companies that you can get complete kits or go to mcmaster (cheaper if you have a friend go in it w/you on mcmaster) but you get all the screws you need my brother in law got an order for him and I. We got all our screws in 12.9 3mm screws in various length and heads (flat or button). Hope this helps some.
