Have an opportunity to buy a small fleet off my brother in law and need to know if it would be a good deal. I'll list the cars and everything I know but interested in what a good price is for the fleet before I post what he is asking. Thanx for the input:

Losi 8ight Buggy (2.0) - Medium toolbox of new/used parts
Losi 8ight Truggy (1.0) - Medium toolbox of new/used parts
Slash 1/10
Losi Highroller
TC4 - 5.5 and 6.5 Novak powerplants. Several Lipo batteries with 3 different chargers and misc extra parts
Axial Scorpion
Theres over 50 different wrenches, nutdrivers all either Losi or Associated sets, Several different diff oils, shock oils and just trays and trays of misc parts and tuning equipment.

With the exception of the Slash which needs an esc they are all RTR and come with a decent Futaba radio to control up to 10 models. The stock radios are not included only because he doesn't have them. I have personally driven all except the Axial and they all worked excellent at the time. He used to race and recently hung it up because it was getting too expensive.

I dont wanna rob the guy but at the same time I dont wanna get robbed myself. Just lookin to see what others would pay iof they had the $. Thanx for any input

I would offer him $500-600 just to see what he said. But there is probably close to $2-2.5k+ there. It adds up fast. I don't want to know what all of mine cost.

With there being so much stuff, it become quite difficult to put a number on it. It's all about research really. If you want the gear it would be in your best interest to find out what's all involved and how much was originally paid (what's approx. retail on that stuff). Value as new is not very negotiable so do your homework and go from there. I would offer 45% of retail. IMO 50% of retail is fair for used stuff that is in good working condition. Anything lower than that is just gravy.

Going off of Feebay - looking at all these cars on there, used, and utilizing the below average going prices the total = $1250ish without any excessive tooling, replacement parts, or chargers included. In researching everything I can remember about his tooling alone theres at least $450-$500 in tools by themselves plus the excess parts. Your right joey- well over $2000/$2500 in used condition.

eBay is not your friend. Most of the time the prices listed for used RC stuff is inflated. I would offer no more than 50% like Joey stated. RC trucks devalue just like the 1:1 trucks do.

That's an awesome fleet to have an opportunity to purchase. I'd say offer him 750 without the tools. This way if he ever gets back into the hobby because we all come and go, he'll still have his tools to fall back on. Another option is to offer him 750 and then negotiate what tools and equipment you need and what he will let them go for. Just my two cents and I hope this helps.

I agree $750 is a good starting price. Toss it out and see what he says. THEN if he says no then negotiate with the tools. You never know until you try. I have ran into other deals like that before....not RCs though...lol.

He was lookin to get $2000 from someone other than me. He said he would sell to me for $1500. Myself I was not willing to pay that much either but wanted to make a fair offer based on what others on here felt it was worth. That bieng said I would feel comfortable offering $1000, not because of the fleet per say but he is married to my sister and I know if I do this my nephew would have an excellent xmas thanx to uncle Jay!! Its a little over pay but worth it in a couple other ways. Thanx for the feedback....I'll make an offer 2day and see what he says. Who knows if he takes it I may have a couple of em for sale on here to recoup some of my $.
