I'm going to the beach tomorrow. Should I take my T-maxx 3.3? Or should i just leave it at home?

I'm afraid the sand and salt water might screw it up. What do yall think?

I can probably make some sweet jumps though...=devil

Even with the Revo drive lines..I see sand getting in there and screwing it up. I would leave it home. Also the diffs... not sure if the newer line TMaxx 3.3 has sealed diffs..

Drive It sounds like a blast.Life is short, play hard!Thats why ya got it. When your done tear it apart ,clean it up and put it back together.Thats what you do in R/C right? If something is wore out upgrade it.

If you take it with you stay out of the dry sand. Best place to run is just near the water where the sand is wet and compact. That will keep most of the sand out of your truck and provide traction so you not constantly getting stuck.
I've done it a few times with my buggy..lot of fun. Just make sure to give it a good cleaning ad oil it up and check for any unusual wear.
Also one suggestion spray it down with silicone spay. Keep the sand from sticking to much and etc.

You heard the voice of reason. and then captain Chaos chimes in. Leave your wallet at home.. you will need it when you take the Tmaxx back home.

Been there done that. I had no problems after running my Maxx at the beach. Keep in mind that this is Florida sugar sand. Really fine white dusty stuff. Only thing that needed looking at was the air filter, and obviously brushing the sand off with a toothbrush.

I say go for it.... Give the whole thing a good spray with WD40 to protect it from the salt and you'll be fine....

just be prepared for a full tear down afterwards and you should be fine....ANY sand getting in your mill can destroy it, so get a good air filter and seal your electronics....fun stuff but the work afterwards isn't usually worth it IMO....

I can at the beach here but the sand is very coarse. Mostly coral actually.....have not done it yet though. I want to put my swamp boat in the water.....but again. I am afraid of salt in the engine. I shudder at the thought.

I found a huge sand dune at the local concrete factory.I only had about 10 minutes before dark but man was that fun.The best fun yet.I need to get back there for at least an hour because its gonna take a tear down to clean this thing out.
1/2 gallon a gas for the pressure washer $1.65.
One Revo 3.3 bearing kit $50.00.
Riding the dunes at sunset Priceless.

If it aint gritty its just pretty!

I ran mine at the beach and twisted my rear center drive. BUt it was fun as hell before that happened. Seriously its an R/C. Its ment to be taken to the next level and beat up. What else is it good for. Just clean it afterwards

I've got a question for ya i will be driving in sand in the next couple monthes its got a really hard base and mabye a 1/4 inch to 1/2 of lose sand should I have to worry about wreaking any thing i will be wraping my electronics my t-maxx is the classic 2.5 so no upgraded drive lines and no gray parts. Should I worry?:surrender

I could see you having some wear on the wheel bushings (if that's what is in the 2.5...) and you need to really cinch down your filter with a ziptie. But other than that you should be good to go.
