OK, so I've been running my new RS4 Evo for a few weeks, breaking it in and having fun. I put a failsafe on it last week and, though I don't know if it started then or not, I noticed tonight when attempting insert the glow starter into the center of the cooling head (with trx and rx on) that the throttle servo glitched forward whenever I got the glow starter close to the head. It started fine and I had no problems with the RTR radio while bashing and my battery levels are fine.

Any thoughts? Maybe the fail safe is too close to the antenna or something?

Apologies if this should go under radio/electronics thread.

Thanks!

I've heard alot people having glitches with the fail safe units. Try removing it and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks, that's an easy enough thing to try...

Like I said, works fine after starting, and the servo doesn't go WOT or anything, just moves a bit when the starter gets close...

Thanks...

My servos do that too whenever I touch the head or anything that connects to metal on my truck. Like when I adjust my idle sometimes and the screwdrives hits the head the throttle will twitch and stuff. It really sucks. I haven't experienced that with the glow starter though.

You are always going to see that as anything metal to metal rubbing will cause RF interference which is what you are seeing. Try it with the Engine OFF and notice how your servoes go wild. I thought that it was my failsafe too but it wasn't.

Mine do that and I have no failsafe installed. anything metal including the glow starter causes the servo to jump but I've found that if I touch both objects with the same hand it doesn't do it as bad.

Well glad to know I'm not crazy!

I was starting it with the body off too, so maybe that's why I noticed/heard it now and not before. Like I said, it's not messing with the running of the car. Thanks for the insight, loving this site now that I've got my Evo! :worship:

Thanks everyone!
