I've been told that it doesn't really matter what heat of glow plug u use in your engine by LHS, the glow plug is only really there to get the engine started and it doesn't matter if u use a hot plug in a .21 engine.
other places I've red that cold plugs should be used in this size of engine as u may lose some acceleration + rpm using to hot a plug.

which is correct what you guys think, then what would be the point making glow plugs with various heat ranges?

Heat does matter! Think of it as a timing belt adjustment. Hotter plugs will advance the timing.

I found in MOST .21's or larger that the cold and medium plugs work best.

Scale is right, be careful what these guys tell you. You can try a little test if you want. Run your engine with a hot plug and then with a cold plug. You will notice a difference.

And that article scale gave is a good read. I have had it saved in my favorites for some time now.

lol - isnt it funny how some LHS' really dont give a poop about their customers?!?!?!? Just amazing man.

k guys just noticed the replies with take a look at the article, I've been running a hot plug for sometime now an OS A3 (hot) when it should be an OS A5 (cold). think ill return the shoppy tomorrow to get them exchanged or something, cos i still got a couple sitting there.

thx

after speaking to a few people etc. etc i think the problem is that my LHS are more into planes and heli's. from what i can gather running a plug that is to hot for your engine doesn't matter much when running the engine in a plane or heli but a car is a slightly different kettle of fish. because of the high rpm + operating temps! a colder plug should be used. dont think ill be taking any advice from them in the future!
