I'm new to the game and i was reading about having to charge you glow plugs? if thats true that defeats the whole purpouse that i ordered a nitro. btw i just ordered the schumacher xt-r3e and if you have any info on that ill appreaciate it alot seince on oter forums nobody replies, the questions i have are about the 3 speed trans and the fact you can't jump with it.

No, you don't have to charge your glow plugs. You will have to put a glow plug igniter on the glow plug for it to fire up.

And that requires recharging or battery replacement, but it's nothing like your thinking.

Being a little more specific, depending on what type of igniter u buy u would have to recharge it or replace the D-cell battery.

yes this is my first nitro and can't wait to get it. poeple where talking about it taking 10 to 12 hours to recharge? i dont know what that means. is that 10 to 12 hours before you can start it or what.and you say you have to use a battery?for what? sorry i can't be more specific

There are several types of glow plug ignitors. The 2 most commonly used are the "D" cell type or the rechargeable type. The "D" cell ignitor just takes a "D" cell battery in order to use it. The rechargeable type usually has a NICD rechargeable battery in it which will take 10 to 12 hours with a trickle charger to charge it before use. If you have a quick charger, you can charge it much faster depending on your charge rate.

The only batteries a nitro will require are for the transmitter, receiver and the glow plug ignitor.

If you do get a rapid charger and want to use it for your glow ignitor, make sure it will charge a single cell and get the adapter to be able to plug it in.
