OK I have 2 trucks that have run pretty good for me. 2.5 and a 3.3

Today NIETHER of them wanted to run for more than 15 seconds. Its getting cold outside and I think thats gotta be the issue.

They seemed to Idle OK but if I did ANYTHING they would die. Drive slow ease into throttle... WOT didnt matter, if I tried to drive em they died.

If I left the igniter on the truck it would run, untill the igniter fell off.

I tried 4 diferant USED plugs ( they looked fine when tested with an igniter )

20% traxxas fuel, factory setting on the carbs ( I reverted to the factory setting when I couldnt get em to run )

What plugs should I be running? is it HOT plug on hot days? or cold plug on hot days?

Cold plug or hot plug on cold days?

Time for me to stock up on plugs... I just want to get the right ones.

last winter I ran 3232x plugs in my 3.3 and I didnt have a problem all winter.. axually to be honest I think thats what I ended up running this summer on accident now that I think about it.. oops now I gotta stock up on a few more l.o.l.

I ran trinity monster horsepower for the first part of winter and traxxas the secound part... I will stick with trinity and odonnels!!!

yeah alittle bit but not too much except for the days that were really cold and then the next day would be hot as hell.. I was retuning then everyday...

Did you do any retuning? Temp changes require different settings. Also, use a hotter plug in small block engines with 20% fuels.

:loser: The question was really meant for Knall since he's the one with problems. :hehe:

I tried to retune em, but I couldnt get em to run long enough to tune. So I just went back to factory settings.

My real quastion is just what plugs should I get. cause I am thinking thats the problem.

They both ran fine last time out. And now that its getting cold outside.... they dont wanna run. Its still liek 50 degrees, not like its negative 100 or anything.

I am running the McCoy MC59 hot plug with sidewinder 20% nitro. The problem you describe above happened to me almost exactly. Turns out I was running the MC8 medium plug with the 20% nitro and just wasn't hot enough to keep it running. I would try to start it and as soon as I removed the ignitor, it would stall. When I changed over to the hot plug, problem went away! I hope this helps you a bit..

Cold weather, small block engine; use a medium plug. Hot weather, use a med or hot plug. This is for a sb engine with 20 or 30% fuel.

Use a medium plug on any bb or mid block .21 or over.

Richen your hsn about 1/2 turn or more if it's 50 out and cover the head if when gets colder. You can always remove some covering and/or richen the engine if it gets too warm.

OK new hot plug and it fired right up. so plug was the issue. I think I fried it again though LOL I was running pretty hot even though I saw blue smoke ect.

i use the O.S LC3 Hot glow plugs summer and winter in my 2.5 and my friend does the same with his 3.3 neither him of i have ever had any problem with them

I run os 4 med plug in my nitro's with 25% Byrons and never have a plug issue cold or hot weather thats in small block's. I have tried all diff type's of plugs and to me any med plug is the way to go if your just bashing and playing around. I use to try to swap cold to hot and all that and it did nothing but cause me to have to retune alot so I just stick with a med and rarely have to do a major retune the most I have to do is about a 1/4 turn on the HSN either leaner or richer depending on weather. Hope this helps. Some guys can really dial in a tune with each plug change to me it's not worth the extra work since all I do is play.
