Yesterday I got a new glow plug and replaced my old one that I went through. I crushed the coil on the previous one out of nowhere. Now the new one I got yesterday had a crushed coil also. I think I flooded the engine on accident when I started it up again today, but I leaned it out a little more.
Anyways, yesterday I replaced my backplate too. I noticed some metal shavings in the crankcase. They were very fine, like from sanding a piece of metal. But could something like that cause the glow plugs to get crushed coils? I'm gonna try flushing the engine out and see if I can get anything out of it... Later...

The crushed coils usually indicate that you are running too rich or trying to start an engine that is flooded.

The metal shavings are a bad indication (depending on the quantity and the location.) If they are in the area behind the back plate, that usually indicates some wear and tear on the connecting rod. Not really a bad thing for a new engine as some wear occurs during break in, but too much wear and tear indicates other problems.

If you have not already done so, break the engine down and inspect all of the internals for damage.

Make sure nothing is slightly touching on the inside of the crankcase. I ground most of the big end off the con rod when the engine bearing developed a lot of play in them which allowed it to grind otself down on the crankcase.

My connecting rod has a tiny bit of play, but the reason why I was going through plugs was cause one of the coils from a plug fell out and I didn't know it. It looked fine when I checked the coils on it and the coil kept crushing the other coils, I only lost 2 this way...
