I just purchased a Picco .26 for my maxx and was wondering what glow plug to use. I'm assuming medium heat range? I have a Tower order ready to go in so any help will be appreciated. Thanks

McCoy 59 plugs. I run them in all my engines and never have any problems. That's what the pros use too, so I hear.

I run some kind of cheap megatech plug (their only like 4.99$) and i have all kinds of problems with them .

i use duratrax medium in my t maxx and duratrax hot in my mammoth st no problems with em at all and they last a pretty long time

medium on small block engines
hot on big block engines

medium on small block engines
hot on big block engines
I would have to slightly disagree with that statement. There is a bit more to that equation than the size of the engine to determine what temp of glow plug you need. First what does the engine manufacturer say about it? What is the nitro content of your fuel? The higher the nitro the cooler the plug you need. I run 30% fuel so I have to run cold plugs to prevent pre-detonation. Which can ruin a mill. Pre-det can also make an engine stop running and run backwards.....I didn't believe it until I saw it myself.....will post another thread on this. But in short for "most" engines it you are running 20% nitro a medium plug will work.

Mccoy all the way here.

Buy online and in bulk and save some tough. I Went in on a 12pack online and split it with my friend. came out to be a $4 a plug. LHS charges 6.89

Also, the Duratrax LR3 is the same as O.S. LC3, just rebranded but the duratrax is cheaper, if you buy 12, these run to be about $3.54 a PLUG. Not bad for an O.S LC3 plug :)
