Today is the first time I've been able to run my Tmaxx since the Florida trip. So now I have to re-adjust the needle settings. So far I've been overheating and I noticed the glow plug becomes loose and one popped off. Does any one have the same problem or why it's doing that.

Sounds like you need a new head. Your engine will run hot if it is sucking air it will run lean and if your glow plug is coming loose that is what it is doing. You must have striped it out or got something in the threads.

Try installing a new plug with a new washer and see if that helps. If not, maybe the post above is the advice you should follow.

I put a new plug in and it lasted about 3 tanks. When I went to check it, it was loose and it turned out to be a bad plug. So I replaced it with a new and was going fine for about 5 minutes, then it bogged down and steamed(overheated). I let it cool off and ran it again for 2 minutes and it died. When I retrieved it, I noticed the plug was gone.

Sounds like threads must be stripped. Shine a strong light in there and look. I think R/C Madman is correct. Time for new head probably.

I'll check the threads tonight. If that's the case, then I have a great excuse to get a new engine.

u could try to use some loctite on the threads, might help untill u get a new engine.

later

I definately wouldn't use loctite, because if any of that falls inside the engine, chances are it won't be good for the engine.

If the plug came out of the threads, there's a very good chance that engine is hosed... Those peices of thread are probably in your sleeve reekin havoc on your piston...lol

Maxx Trooper, small bits/chips of loctite could still find there way into the engine. I think your best bet is to get a new cooling head.

well like i said, if he is getting a new engine, just do it ne ways until he gets his new engine and can break it in.

try tightening the plug really tight all the way, if it keeps on goin , then you're all done and its stripped out(the threads on the head) but you dont need a new head, all you need is a button the part of the head with the threads, pop it out and a get a new one, ($5.00-$10.00) and you're all set, or even better yet nicee exuse to get whole new engine, thier always fuun

I decided to get the Wasp .18. I hope the engine is worth it. Thanx for the help guys.
