hey y'all.

I am having a problem with my tmaxx. It is a stock trx 3.3 motor with the eztart system.

I had not run since last weekend and now it won't start.

The ez start motor spins but the engine does not turn over. The glow plug light on the starter wand also goes out.

I checked the glow plug and the filament was burned out kinda like a blown fuse. I thought that was the problem so I replaced the gp.

As soon as I tried to start with the new glow plug I got 1 cycle of ignition then nothing, just the ezstart motor whirring. I checked the new glow plug and sure enough the filament was melted like a blow fuse.

Any ideas what could be going on?

did the engine start?
there is now way that your GP could be damaged just because of you trying to start the engine.....
take off the GP,pour some after run oil (or WD40 ) into an engine and spin it with no GP
just spin it so the oil gets everywhere, then put the new GP in and then try to start the engine...

No the engine never started. The ezstart motor spun but didn't crank over the engine.

If your glow plug is melted without ever starting, you probably have a short in the electrical circuit somewhere. If you have a multimeter, test the voltage on the wire to your glow plug, should only be araound 1.5 volts.
Follow Rolex's advice to get the ez start to spin the engine.

that may help,I would take engine apart and clean all the parts and oil them but also I would check the bearings and specially one way bearing that it's used for staring the engine.
I would make sure that all the engine parts are perfectly fit together and nothing is missing.
if you turn/spin the fly wheel does the cylinder turn?
if yes then there is something wrong with your EZ-Start or with the back plate.

Well it's official. I'm an idiot. I installed a new rear body post and accidentally screwed the ex start plug in backwards. So I was sending 7.2 to the glow plug and 1.5 to the starter.

Too much electricty equals nuked filament!!!
