How would I go about adding ghost flames on a white paint job? I'm thinking a light coat of white first, then the flame pattern on top of that in silver, backed again in white? Am I on the right track? I want them to be visible when you really look at it, but not popping out at you.
I've looked around on youtube but haven't found anything except true fire videos.
Would greatly appreciate some advice! Thanks guys!

I've not painted in a while but Id think Id go with a fast light coat of silver flames first then the white. the silver wouldnt show up behind the wight I dont think.

Yeah, I'm airbrushing and have the flame stencil/mask. I'm just wondering how to layer the paint to get the desired effect.

Slow, thanks. I might try tomorrow on a scrap piece of lexan and see how it comes out.

NCNitro has a flame tutorial in a sticky at the top of this forum. It will work with any colors you want.
He's the BEST at true fire paint jobs.

I bought a pack of those overhead projector transparency sheets at OfficeMax to practice on.

100 sheets for $20 bucks

Work pretty good when you tape them down to a flat surface and they are a lot cheaper than lexan sheets. That way you can test out different color combos/backing then flip it to see how they are going to look from the outside. Really good to practice on.

It's even cheaper to cut open clear 2-liter bottles and clean them and use them to practice. That's what I do.
