Getting hot then not starting

Hi all.
I'm having a problem trying to start the truck when its hot, when its cold starts first time but if it cuts out when hot i battle to start it again or i leave it to cool down then start first time.
Any suggestions ?

+1 for you snook. I've been told that many times on my trucks after running them hot and then they wont restart. so i had one rebuilt then bought a temp gun so i could adjust the engine so it would over heat. so if you have to rebuild the engine i would invest in a temp gun.

Hi, i am really new at this as this is my first nitro which i have ever had, i did go to my hobbie shop around 2 weeks ago where they told me the pitch is still fine, my problem is i have no idea what the pitch should feel like. Is there any way of this being explained as too how tight or loose the pitch should be ?

A good engine will still be hard to re-start if it's been run too hot.
Next time you fire it up start turning the high speed needle out 1/8 turn at a time until it's running noticeably rich. Make sure you warm it up before adjusting the needle.
A properly tuned engine should always seem rich until it warms up.

i still would think he would need a temp gun. just to be on the safe side

While a temp gun will get you in the ballpark of a good tune I prefer to tune based on performance and smoke and then make a note of your temps. Providing your not running upwards of 300+ and you have a good smoke trail your good. Have always preferred to run a rich motor and get longer life than try and squeeze every bit of power out of it and run it super lean IMO
