me and my buddy were drivin his new mt2 around and the engine started gettin stuck at top dead center. it only did this fafer we took a break for a while. i have heard if you put a lil after run oil in there itll stop so we tried that. but it didnt work. we charged his roto start batteries fully. didnt work. any ideas? I'm fresh out of em.

This is a common problem... try to heat the motor up with a blow dryer this will expand the sleve and piston thus making it easier to turn over.

When you shut 'er down and it will be sitting for anything longer than a few minutes, you should roll the flywheel and put it at BDC. It will increase the life of the sleeve.

On new engines the sleeve is VERY tight to the piston at TDC.

1- If you are giong to shut the turck down for a while always do as Jetmech said, turn the flywheel so that the piston is at BDC so that the sleeve doesn't seize to the piston when it cools down.

2- Until the engine is completely broken in (could take 10+ tanks of fuel) try to heat the engine before trying to start it for the first time. Especially in these cold temps. Hair dryer on High or heat gun are great ways to do this.

3- Make sure your not flooding the engine when your trying to start it. TOO much fuel causes a condition called hydrolock that will prevent the piston from fully reaching TDC and could cause it to get stuck. If this is the cause of the locking up, remove the glowplug, turn the truck upside down and give the rotostart a 1-2 second crank to eject the excess fuel through the glow plug hole. There are other less messy techniques but this is the fastest/easiest.

ARO is for AFTER RUN OIL.....use it after you run......
best habit to get into is EVERY time you pick your RC up, check th episton position....if it's easy to turn when cold it's not going to get stuck......
take the glowplug out and see if it helps turn it over if you don't have a hairdryer....
