Well, I'm gettin a new engine next weekend. I don't have the money to get the os .21 tm that I wanted or even the os .18. I don't have the money to upgrade my driveline to even be able to put one of those engines in my t maxx. So I'm gonna get a traxxas engine, not the 3.3 but the 2.5R. I wont have to beef up my drive train and it's 85 bucks when I trade in my old 2.5.

I wanna break this engine in right and treat it right. After run procedure after every time I run it, I'm buying a motor saver air filter this weekend, and I'm gonna break it in right.

I really can't wait. I'm so excited, after about 5 years I'm finally getting a new engine. Anything I should know about the 2.5R engine? Anything I should do to my truck to get ready for it?
 
You can buy a 3.3 engine on ebay for $86 + shipping & use all the parts off your 2.5! i put one in my 2.5 tmaxx & it works great no problems!!

i figured I could get a better engine off eBay for a cheap price but then to run the 3.3 I'd have to upgrade my driveshafts, diffs, and tranny and I don't have the money for that. My drive train would be torn to shreds. It's about 5 years old and I ran it hard
 
I have the stock 2.5 truck! I've ran about 20 tanks I've had no problemS I run in the dirt lite bashing! If your going to run on the street & heavy bashing & wheelies then you probably would need upgrades. For me the 2.5 isnt enough power To get the power i need the engine gets too hot. W/ the 3.3 iget plenty power & my temps are much lower 200-230!! Engine lasts longer!!

Which t maxx 2.5 do you have? The 2.5r already has the revo driveline. I can't even believe traxxas discontinued it but still makes the other one.
