Ok i am buying a savage from a member on here and I want to know everything about it. I mean, are the servos good, things like that.

its the savage 25
the motor is an axial .28 i t has less than a quart through it ...there are 2 screws in place of pins... its the 2 on the electronics box...the underside isnt too scratched up i would say...its got a few, i will show a pic of it...its got an aluminum front skidplate..jgreen shocks on the front...
futaba s3003 throttle/brake servo
duratrax sx-200 heavy duty steering servo
Team Orion 1600 Nimh recharbable battery pack
duratraxh tires
brand new diff with the 4 bevel gears
used one, becuase i thought that was bad, but wasn't
spare hpi 25 motor, just needs a rebuild...
2 new slipper clutch pads in package
fuel bottle in package
clutch spacers in package
stainless steel screw set
rotostart backplate with new one way bearing and rotostart starter, but didnt buy the conversion kit for the axial motor...
glow plug ignitor

And a tq3 radio system.

Well, without seeing the pictures of it, I'd say it's a decent truck... First thing I'd do is ditch that metal skid plate and get an RPM plate to replace it. You may want to consider better tires for it, depending on what the duratrax tires are like. And, if you have a mis-matched set of shocks, perhaps a matching set of shocks.

Other than that, doesn't sound like a bad deal (without seeing pictures).

Sounds like the one DevinBrown07 had.
The stock steering servo is bit weak but you list that it been replaced. I don't know the specs on that one. The early 25's had 2- gear diffs, the later ones like mine were upgraded to the 4. As long as the diffs in the truck are 4-gear, you should be good to go for while.
Seems like a good truck to start with.

I bought a set of those tires from E-Bay a while back. HEAVY AS HELL! lol Good traction but the rims are brittle. They'll crack at the hexes easy.
i notice the truck has a servo saver installed on the steering servo....
The savage 25 came with the adjustable cam-type servo saver, mine did anyways. It does not need the one on the servo, it's killing performance by being there.
It's hard to buy a used rc without it being in my hands first.

It actually looks like a good truck. Replace that handle with the X rollbar set, and that's about all I can recommend. You're missing a cover for the middle servo in the radio box (that's for the reverse module servo).

Other than that, I'd say you got a good truck. The shocks look good; perhaps a matching set of springs all the way around. That skid plate, I'd replace with plastic.

Good purchase man, and welcome to Savagehood!

Man i've been waiting to join "savagehood" for a long time now. And scrogg, can you tell me what I should do to fix it? Thanks alot!

Ok so can anybody tell me EXACTLY how to fix everything these wonderful guys say is "wrong" with it?

for the rollbar mentioned above. Look at the truck with no body on it, and you will see an aluminum roll bar that's bent to one side. If you look at the new Savage X, and there is a recent thread here that shows the unboxing of one, you will see a black plastic roll bar that has a loop over the engine. You would buy one of those roll bars, and replace the bent aluminum one with the plastic setup from the Savage X.

Well first you need to check and make sure that you have a cam style servo saver, which you probably do. As long as you've got that, you can take off the other one. In the first set of pics, 4th pic from the right, you will see a white ring that looks like a donut. That's the servo saver that the guys were referring to. You can take that off and put a regular servo arm on it.

So that sucks for performance? I don't get how. My tmaxx has one of those for steering, should I take that off?

No, you need it on the T-Maxx. But your T-Maxx only has ONE. It's a spring, and when you turn, the spring absobs the force of the impact, and then turns. It's like a shock absorber so if you hit a rock or flip the truck, when the wheels hit hard, the spring in the servo saver takes the impact so you don't break the gears in the servo. The Savage should have another servo saver thats built into the chassis, and the extra servo saver is just absorbing the force applied by the servo, so in effect its like trying to drive a nail with an inflatable hammer. With one of them on their, it's like driving a nail with a rubber mallet. You will still drive the nail, but it will take more work than with a regular hammer. But with two servo savers, it's like driving the nail with the inflatable hammer, and you would be there all day swinging that inflatable hammer.

thats good. I can't wait for it. I know I will have a thread about it. thats for sure.
