gemini vs. hurricane

Does anybody know if the Traxxas Hurricane rims are any better then the trash Gemini rims that came on the truck? I was comparing them at the lhs and the Hurricane looks alittle different, but not much.

Not too sure about the stockers, but I've heard the HPI line of rims for the Savage/T-Maxx would fit the REVO (pretty good in quality too!)? I personally like the HPI 8 spoke and the Q6 in black.....never been a big fan of plastic chrome.

I should pick up a set of those after I pick up my REVO (soon I hope).

I have set of Hurricanes, but haven't run them yet, still waiting for my Response tires. I've heard from a few others they seem to be a bit more durable than the Gemini's. I myself haven't had any problems with the Gems except for the chrome flaking off. I was going to dye the Hurricane's though so that wouldn't matter.

how do you die your rims?

You can either leave the chrome finish on or take it off, depending on the type of finish you want. Then just get some RIT dye from the store (clothing dye), it's fairly cheap and easy to do. The longer you leave them in the darker the color you should get.

A noob question: How do you take off the chrome? Just scratch it off?
