yea i dont really know how to charge a gel cell. is it like a nimh? can i carge it ast whatever? i have a superbrain 969 so what should i set it at amp wise and mah wise?

A gel cell is like a deep cycle marine battery. Almost like a car battery, but it can take getting discharged. Thats all I know sorry I can't help svg guy.

i also have a hobbico wall charger for it came with it

i just need to know if i can charge it whenever or what and how to

A gell cell should be charged slowly. From what I understand its best to use a peak charger set at around 1-1.2 amps till it peaks. In most cases it may take 12-24 hours depending on the size. You do not want to charge it at 3-4or 5 amps. it will over heat the gel and cause damage.

do i have to wait till its dead to charge it? how do i know when its done lol

i dont think my superbrain 969 is considerd a peak charger? so is htere anyway to know or just go till it gets warm

use the little hobbico charger w/ the gator clips....unless you have a triton charger.....you ain't doin it w/ a superbrain......

Plaid,
You sayin ya have ta do it with a dumb charger then? Are yu a trashin smart people?

I use an automotive battery charger set at 2 amps to charge mine. I've had the gell cell for about 6 years now and it's still going strong. :D

I leave mine on overnite...the little light is off by morning...works for me....the first charge was long though...maybe 20hrs
