Gearing?

so my revo currently has a 14t cb, 38t spur and the wide gears (2nd speed gear 38T, 13T-18T input gears) in the box. I'm looking at putting in the 40t spur and standard gears (2nd speed gear 39T, 13T-17T input gears) in the box. will that make much of a diff to acceleration? or should i go with the short gears (2nd speed gear 40T, 13T-16T input gears)

The only thing that makes a difference in acceleration is a clutch bell and/or spur gear.

so what do the wide and short gears do?

They change the 2nd gear ratios.

I did the short gears and 40T spur gear. It's a fun set up for sure
