k. well i got my wasp today..i was so happy and my rcs roll cage is comming tommorow. with my wasp i want wheelies. do i want less teeth or more teeth for wheelies... right now i have 15/52 will that wheelie well? i just want wheelies.

15/52 is not a good combo, If those are HPI gears then they may not even mesh properly. The 52 spur is too big, go with a smaller spur like the 49 or 47.

If 15/52 does mesh then it will produce uncontrollable wheelies. The truck will be super annoying, slow as crap, and constantly on its lid.

all he wants is wheelies...thats all hes gonna get. he'll be happy

its either a 14 ir 15 tooth CB. on the www.hpiracing.com, it says that 15/52 is good all around gearing...so i think it'll mesh (unless HPI is wrong which i doubt). and if its 14T it says factory for a savage 21 so either way its all good and they do mesh...i want wheelies and according to savage25rocks 15/52 will give you good wheelies less teeth on cb = torque more teeth on spur = torque. so its all good. thanks,

Yes, my mistake. 15/52 will mesh. I was thinking about the 18/52 combo you asked about in another thread. Sorry.....

o dude its cool its more my mistake for saying 18/52...thats what i thought it was until i looked in the box to get some parts i broke and the 18T was in the box. 18 is for racing n e way. where i live its all dirt so I'm keepin the off road one installed. i was looking on the internet for my spur i got. it came w/ a 15/52 or a 14/52...is this good???
thanks,
peace,

heres another mistake i made on the last post i did when i said "it came w/ a 14/52 or 15/52". it didnt, it came w/ a 15/49 in it, i bought a steel robinson racing on that is either 14/52 or 15/52.

oops my bad...

how heavy is the rcs roll cage. will it effect my wheelies really bad?

15/49 will be fine for pulling wheelies but with your new engine it is going to get old fast. To fully utilize the potential of your engine I suggest you go with a 47T spur and pick up a 17T and 18T clutchbell. You should be able to lift the wheels occasionally with the 17T with that WASP .28, and switching over to the 18T will keep the wheels down.

Be careful with break-in on that WASP. It has really tight compression. Heat up the head with a hairdryer for 5-6 minutes to loosen up the internals. Your one way and pullstart will thank you for it.

Just Guessing at what Madd-Maxxes next post will be:

MADD-MAXX: wtf is compression...will compression affect my wheelies...how can I change my compression to do wheelies...If the Wasp .28 has compression and it effect wheelies I don't want the Wasp .28...can somebody suggest an engine without compression that will do wheelies?

Just Razzin' ya MADD;)

All in fun.

I've used 17/47 and 18/47 with my Picco .26 and it wheelies hard on command in first gear. I am guessing that the Wasp .28 may do the same. A small power wheelie is ok but as others have said huge wheelies are annoying. It sucks big time having to run to flip your truck back over before it stalls out from lack of fuel (tank upside down).

I hear alot of people referring to it as "pinch" which is probably the proper term.

I ran 18/52 and then 18/49 and it is slow off the bat but it goes fast. Since then I am now running. I will try out the 15/52 and 15/49. I will let you know!
