My gear is starting to come in little by little for my new buggy!

You sure are going with the good stuff. A++

I guess you're an early bird too, lol. I start checking the boards, before I get ready for work.

Depends on the day. Sometimes on here till 4am than sleep till noon other times go to bed at midnight up at 7 never know one day to the next lol.

Sould I pick up a Tekin hotwire interface for the RX8? I'm not sure how to use it, but it seems like a valuble fine tunning tool.

My X-Ray 808E came in today! I started today and built the diffs, but I had to stop because I thought I ordered the correct optional shims, but I didn't so I have to wait a few days to continue.

Just keep going with the build...without installing the diffs. Plenty of work left to do ;-) Love me some XRay porn though......awesome fit and finish on their stuff.

I built the shocks today. They seem very high quality.

I don't have A-arm reamers and I test fit the A-arm pins. The pins don't feel tight, just a snug fit, but the instructions say to ream them.
Should I wait until I get some A-arm reamers?

Use a drill bit slightly larger than the hole in the arms to "ream" them out. Works like a charm. As long as you can put the hinge pin in there and literally make the arm do loops around it with no resistence, you'll be fine. Any binding is bad bad bad.

When you built your shocks, did you put the pistons in there to match the setup sheet your working from? I think X-Ray includes multiple pistons.....

I used one of the team drivers set up sheets and used 8 hole 1.2 front and 8 hole 1.3 rear. I used the oil weights supplied with kit and will change them as I get a feel for the buggy. I would have had it together already, but I'm waiting for an optional shim that should be here today. I'm very impressed with the quality of parts. I'm not knocking Traxxas, but these parts are a step up to what I'm experienced with.

You won't find a better kit to build than an X-Ray. It's a huge pleasure to build their stuff!

Wow, all together and running :) It was kind of weird not hearing or smelling any nitro, but a blast to drive. How will I know when it's time to swap batteries? Will the ESC just shut the motor down when the battery drops below a certain voltage level?

I don't have my lid though, I sent it off to get painted.

I sent a lid out to get painted and I'm promised it will be a off the hook lid, but in the meantime I decided to paint one myself. Nothing impressive, but I think it looks cool.
