hi,
i have almost done ten tanks on my new savage x after break in. the problem is that my truck does not shift second gear even at full throttle. the engine is more on richer about 3/4 turn clock wise from flush. please suggest

If the engine is broke in and tuned fairly close, the next thing is to adjust the shift point screw in the trans. It's in the manual, do you have one? If not you can download it at rcdocuments.com

If it's super-rich, then it could be not getting up to the right RPM's to shift. If you have a temperature gauge, check that it is at 220F (not sure what that is in C). You might have to lean the engine a little bit before it shifts.

From there, if you have the adjust the shift point, the owners manual covers how to adjust it.

Hope this helps

Had the same prob with my X. I ajusted the transm. shift point and VOILA!!!!

Thanks Guys Will Check And Get Back. Thanks Boutch, heart Break And Racer 1966.

No prob amigo! Usually the shift point is set pretty close at the factory. Sometimes they can be off, though. Shouldn't be more than an 8th of a turn off, if that.

ya now it is shifting after slight adjustments. the temparature is between 110 c to 120c. is it ok.

110-120C should be alright, although the temps should be down closer to 114C (using Rolex's math, so if I'm off by a percentage point, my apologies; blame him! - kidding!). It will get a little hotter if you're running full-on, or up hills, etc. The more load you put on the motor, the more it's going to heat up.

To convert to celsius, subtract 32 from the f* then divide by 9/5. So 220 f* -32=188/(9/5)=104.44 Opposite for c->f

;) hope that helps
