  1. Bashing
Does anyone know what the difference is between the optional wide/close gear ratios for the tranny? Is one more top end and the other torque? If so which is which?

thanks
Matt

i believe what they mean is in the close ratio 2nd is lower making it closer to the 1st speed. and the wide ratio is more top end because of a Wider spread

close ratio=acceleration
wide ratio=top speed

all works in conjunction with Spur and CB too.

i run close gears, 40T spur, 14T CB. flys off the gate, but doesn't go any faster than about 30 MPH

all the first gears are the same but its the second gears that are different... so basically you will always have the same jump off of the line, but changing the gears sets to get you a different second gear ratio will change your top end speed...

if you are just bashing, any one of them will do, i just suggest that you change your cb and spur combo...

i am running the wide ratio with a 17CB and 36 tooth spur... in high traction situations it will wheelie and i still have plenty of spunk off the line, but it still pulls really hard on the top end with plenty of speed for those longer jumps and straights

okay, so I have a 15/38 bell/spur and more than likely standard ratio. And that's what I am after, I want that b*@tch to wheelie!!!! Right now I can only get the front tire to come off when i hit the gas and in a turn. Also,I am wondering if there is a way to lock the center diff. I want to have the front/rear diff to have same amount of power. Any ideas?

matt

You will not get wheellies if the center diff has any give at all

yeah the center diff is more for racing than for bashing. but i like it more than the stock set up. theres no point IMO to have a 4WD doing wheelies. i just want it to go fast =]
