don't go with too high of a gear combo cuz if you do you will not have any bottom end grunt off the line, and most of us if not all of us like to have some bottom end to spin rooster tails of mud, dirt, sand, ect, btw, what engine mount do you have for that engine????

Hey, revo_rob_1984, what happened to 18/36, 19/36 or 20/36 ?? LOL !!!!!!!!!1

for a picco .26, i would suggest somewhere between 16/38 0r 17/36.

Odd combo's, but they give good bottom end torque and plenty enough speed. (depending where you have the shift point set for 2nd)

On the other hand, the best way to find what you want is to experiment with the different cb's and main gears.

Alternatively, divide the main gear teeth by the clutch bell teeth to get the ratio.

The LOWER the number (i.e 1.5:1) the slower the accelleration and the HIGHER the top speed becomes.

As always, it is ALWAYS a trade off. do you want acceleration or top speed ? or do you want both ?? if you want both, work out your "lowest" ratio (i.e 1.5:1) and you HIGHEST ratio (i.e 2.63:1) and try to aim for a ratio somewhere in the middle of those two figures to get both speed AND acceleration.

On the flip side, the HIGHER the number (I.E 2.35:1) The FASTER the acceleration and the LOWER the top speed becomes.

The standard ratio of 15/40 = 2.666:1 (thats 2.666 turns of the clutch bell to one turn of the main gear hence 2.666 [cb]:1 [mg])

BTW, revo_rob_1984 is it me, or does that link in your sig need updating ???
